roy jones tops the list in recent times. looks like superman in 2003 then in 2004 is getting ko'd by the likes of antonio tarver and glen johnson. very shocking

trying to think of others. roberto duran suffered a sudden decline from 80-83 but rose from the ashes. and his defeats were against one atg and kirkland lang a great under achiever

wilfred benitez a duran conquerer during that time; went shot over night. looked great against hearns even though he lost but then suffered two losses in a year

evander holyfield declined quickly after tyson fights and suffered a sudden decline after his great win over bowe in 93 til november 96 when he beat tyson. he looked shot during that period

cant think of anyone else like jones getting kod by guys who would struggle to win a round against him in his prime

Not necessarily a great fighter, but Jimmy Young was certainly a very good one. The rate that that he declined between the Ken Norton fight in late 1977 and the fights with Oswaldo Ocasio the following year was nthing short of alarming.

Lloyd Honeyghan looked like crap against Mark Breland. Lloyd was still a young man at this point.

Johnson's decline was gradual though. At the time he fought Willard,he was thirty seven years old.

Ezzard Charles went downhill pretty quickly. Harold Johnson as well, I think.

    I was gonna say mcgovern.

On a lesser scale, bill speary was an unbeaten featherweight star with victories over forte, archibald and jeffra but within a matter of months he had pretty much a 50/50 record. Crazy stuff.

    I wouldn't say a great boxer,

But Saensak Muangsurin was a great fighter, who has a boxing record that will
    never be broken.

He suffered a detached retina, then lost his title, and he was never the same.

    For many different reasons

There's loads really, especially at the lighter weights where fighters used to peak early and often found it hard to get established again after losing a title.Lots staying at uncomfortable weights too long and ruining themselves because of it.Damn junior weightclasses.

Armstrong seemed to fall off at a pretty decent clip.

Also Shane Mosley, even though he's hung around for 100s of years, dropped off from a potentially excellent\great fighter to an inconsistent, rather uninspiring one punch at a time B level type almost overnight.

    Forrest broke him.
