Bad investments because of their crooked and greedy management, the fighters find out that they are broke. It is like when Joe Louis found out that he owed the IRS $90,000.00 in back taxes, his management never paid his taxes for him after each fight. An older great champion such as Louis could not enjoy his retirement.

It could be a lot of things. Some like Richard said, money.
Marriage s break down. They perhaps just have mental health issues.
Damage to the brain, obviously with sport their connected to, could contribute.
Depression can weigh down the strongest person, and they feel they can't go on.

What a morbid f!cking thread and question. Do your own digging it’s not hard and the reasons should be obvious if you have common sense.

What does that have to do with anything boxing related? You’re obviously someone who matters you’re the one behind the wheel in your story enjoy it while you can.

Take no notice of anyone that comes out with stuff like that.
Every one, in their own way matters.
You'd be surprised how much, with out knowing, you've changed or influenced some one's life.

That's my advice of the day!

    V true, Richard.
And most of the time, we're so unaware of it.

I’d like to second Richard’s perfectly expressed sentiments. Bang on.

PS - And @Fergy thoughts also - which I only just read.
