    That's a nice list, McGrain. A couple more I'd add a bit below (specifically re. heavyweights) would be Sam McVea and Harry Wills. It's a crime there are no books yet on Joe Walcott, Freddie Welsh, guys like that! My Tommy Ryan book won't be out till around the end of 2025, sadly, but I'm working on it 7 days a week.

    I’d love to read some on Sayers, Heenan, Mace, perhaps even fighters before like Cribb, Belcher.

    There's a Jem Mace bio by Graham Gordon. Can't say I liked it, but still something.
    Also there's a bio of Tom Cribb by Jon Hurley, but the choice of London Times for fight descriptions seems questionable to me.
