I know I'm getting old as I really enjoy Miles Temperton's history articles.

Taylor has a great resume though. The McGuigans matched him tough when he was a contender.

That's great to hear shipmate, these blue collar fighters, that are in terrific scraps for coveted area straps, and toil for years for very little monetary reward, are massively unappreciated, bar a few close friends and or fans.

I had no idea you could fight with a stoma!

Clearly your cats are definitely not fans! Hahaha great post

Ricky Burns deserves a shout. Was one of the best British fighters a few years ago.

I’m pretty sure Callum Smith made £7.5 million for winning the WBSS.

I remember that too, made me smile. He’s such a slimeball.

I have met Hauser twice, once in Vegas and more recently in New York. Lovely man and one of the great boxing writers.

I suspect Bellew-Haye was always going to be 2 fights though and it's far less risk than going out early in the WBSS which he probably would have done. That's kind of my point, quarter-final loser in the WBSS wouldn't have made millions.

Look at how different Bellew looked against Usyk, weight-drained, gassing early, etc, compared to the Haye fights not that long before. He was like a ghost, admitted he was spewing in training camp it was so hard to make weight, etc - imagine 3 of those against the absolute elite? Fighting a shot-to-bits Haye for 30% makes total sense to me.
