Froch is a good lad, he is fast becoming a fan favorite. Classy and respectful in defeat which is always good to see. I used to really hate this guy with a passion!!
Very refreshing. Seemingly, these days everyone has an excuse when they lose - problems in camp, an injury, weight, whatever. Can't remember when someone was so magnanimous in defeat.
this goes to show that you can still win respect, even in a loss... Froch did a "pretty good" job leaving most of himself in the ring, though i believed he was going to open up more and take more risks, considering he himself said that he wasnt afraid of Ward's power. Ummm, its apparent that he under-estimated that power, or he would have opened up more. The end of the 6th round where he got caught with 2 counter left hooks in a row REALLY hurt him bad. It was obvious at the end of the round, his legs were rubberized as he went to his corner. Froch had grown on me with the Super6. I really dont mind a bragadocious fighter. I mean, besides the money, why else fight? Because you think you're a badass and can whoop the next man - duh! There's a good portion of pride and ego in that thinking. I appreciate that in a person, or we wouldnt have boxing at all! The cool thing with him is he's of the few who will back-up his ****-talking with his performance in the ring(despite falling a bit short of expectations vs Ward). That gets my respect, whether a fighter wins or loses. At least he walks his talk - and Froch had done that thru this tournament. At the Showtime Stand-Off, where he was bold-face confident saying he wasnt afraid of Ward's power. I honestly think he believed that and that he wasnt saying that for TV, to psych out Ward, or to convince himself. But in the ring, i think he felt Ward had enuf power not to 1punch KO, but to hurt him in a small amount of time if given the opportunity. And thats what detered Froch from opening up as much as he was looking to do...
All I see here: "much respect", "he is a warrior", "cool dude", "very good fighter", "props to Carl", "classy guy". Unfortunately he will share the same fate as other great dudes that lost 2 or more important fights and the next time he looses he will be a bum. Don't give a damn about what you're saying now. I've seen how Kessler is treated in here. Like in real life... people talk abut a guy who just passed away and they have only good words for him. That's until the first wedding they attend . He will become a shot fighter soon enough, especially if he loses 1 to Bute. Only extreme fans will write about him. Mark my words!
Hats off to Froch for taking the defeat like he should... and also amazing to see it, despite the man having great confidence in himself and a big ego. As for the idiots who keep mentioning Khan, lets get things straight. His defeat to Peterson is no where near Frochs near shutout loss to Ward, Nowhere ****ing near. Khan is an idiot for not letting it go, but lets not beleive for a second, that Froch wouldn't have done the same in a similar situation. In fact, take a look at his comments post Kesslert defeat, where the Danes thought he came across very bitter claiming a home town decision. And also look at his comments post Dirrell fight where he benefitted from a hometown win. Those sucking Carls **** while blaming Khan, need to open their eyes and realise it was a differant situation and hence a differant reaction. I doubt Carl would be so nice post fight, if it turned out to be a close fight, in Oakland, where the ref deducted two points and the judges took more than 10 minutes to tally up.
