Can you think of many great champs that didn`t have a good jab, someone gave me the idea for this on a thread, the 20 best jabers in boxing today, and he said it might as well be a list of the best fighters today, which while being very simplistic makes, sense for me you a great jab at elite level do you agree and which fighters may have been the exception to this rule?

Frazier! Although he did have a decent jab it was not the primary tool for his arsenal and size. Watch the Quarry fights and he did have one, but in contrast it was not a great jab

Ray Boom Boom Mancini would be another champ who didn’t have a great jab. I am sure there is a plethora of others

Edit: not sure he qualifies as a great champion

Roy Jones, Jr? When you throw a lead left hook do you need much of a jab?

Panama Al Brown seemed to prefer to lead with a hook.

He showed a great jab against the far bigger De La Hoya though I guess DLH was all but shot at that time.

Tyson had a brilliant jab and a great counter jab too, Ali`s entire style was based around the jab, LaMotta out-jabbed Robinson for 10 before being crippled by constant right hooks to the body in his last fight with Ray. Gerald wasn`t great because he couldn`t use the jab vs Benn, even Malinga outboxed Benn using the jab twice, the first fight was a dubious decision for Benn.

I've seen you post so much absolute rubbish but naming Ali in a thread asking for awful jabs just might be your finest troll yet. Kudos.

Holyfield was probably one of the most complete heavyweights ever in that he had every shot in the book and did throw just about every one of those shot to a good level. His jab certainly wasn’t awful which is what this thread is suppose to be about, no?

Benn scored tons of flush punches against Gerald who was missing all over the place, Ali never stopped jabbing his 1-2`s were awesome, Tyson landed tons of jabs, watch his fights again.
