James Toney and Oli McCall should definitely make the list. Holyfield got dropped by Bowe in the 1st fight (though it was by a rabbit punch), and he got knocked out in their 3rd fight. He also got dropped by John Ruiz, James Toney and Bert Cooper. Holyfield had a good chin, but not an ATG chin. He had ATG heart and willpower tho.
Ben Tackie and Lovemore N'Dou are stupidly tough guys. In Jin Chi also worth a mention, took one hell of a beating of Morales and didn't once seem hurt.
Hagler, Monzon, Plaster boy (if he thinks he can win, he wont go down), and probably Toney Mayweather and Hopkins and toney dont get hit cleanly enough often enough to be sure.. but you can assume they have above decent whiskers...and thats a good thing
Sandy Saddler stopped in his second pro fight, but never stopped in his remaining 139 fights, also SRR never stopped in his career. Lamotta is very high.
You're absolutely right. Floyd's defense is the reason he's never been down not his chin. Judah rocked him and made Floyd's glove touch the canvas and Corley (not known to be a heavy puncher) had Floyd on ***** street. Let's not forget Shane Mosely, DLH and James Toney in the discussion of greatest chins. Especially Toney...the guy started his career at middleweight and ended up taking punches from heavy punching Heavyweights like Sam Peter towards the end of his career. That's a beard right there!
McCall Vit Ali Marciano I couldn't be bothered naming guys who fight lightweight divisions coz they is nearly no punching power. For example; Mosley's powerpunch wouldn't KO someone like Hayfield even if it landed clearly. so when someone says that a bantamweight got a great chin is just stupid.
