Thanks for posting, and this is the guy who ducked, was afraid to fight a 5'8 MW who had no real pop, according to a well known professor of all things Greb, yep sounds about right. Go out and buy the book the professor will inform you of all the tricks Dempsey used to avoid, and duck Greb. You can believe him he knows lmao.
Perry, this is a great video, showing Dempsey's moves he wasnt just a one dimensional puncher. The professor of all things Greb might not have anything to crow about if Dempsey had fought Greb and pounded him into the ground except, what a bully Dempsey was to pick on Greb.
Great vid. His ability to get so low ans so fast for a guy who was i believe 6.1 and a half is unreal. Great great intelligent fighter
Glad you like it. I might start posting up a couple highlights here every now and then if it's alright.
I read an interesting article yesterday written by Tunney. He describes how difficult it was getting a clean shot on Dempseys head. Gene wrote that Dempseys head was constantly moving and Jack kept his chin low and tucked behind his shoulder. Tunney explained most of his punches cuffed Dempsey around the top of his head and eyes which led to the damage that was inflicted. As one can see in the video Dempsey is slipping, ducking scores of consecutive punches from Tunney.
A question after seeing this and seeing Wills for about the same amount of time from the available clip of Wills, who would you say would win if they had fought?
Dempsey vs Wills or Tunney vs Wills? In either case Wills comes up short. Dempsey kos Wills within two rounds. Tunney U15 over Wills in a relatively boring affair.
Exactly the dullard that made this here post, lives in fantasyland, alot of titles are won by moves made by others than the fighters themselves. I guess you never heard of "uncrowned champions". A good example how long did it take Greb to get a title shot, and he fought everybody.
