he knocks the speed bag out of its platform!!! Has there been any other fighter who done the same or similar thing ? Post any video which you think shows great deal of power. (marciano hitting 500lb bag and foreman putting dents on the bag would be greatly appreciated).

Nice clip. I'm still miffed (and mystified) that Goldman thought Bonavena hit harder than Rocky.

zarate and foreman have been documented to do it to pro speed bags. to me that looks like the bag was wobbly and they were waiting for it to pop so to speek

Bonavena was a big heavy hitter though so I dont know

The biggest punchers arent always the perceived biggest punches because landing your money shots accurately is more important in scoring a KO than actually having a massive punch

Good clip, more about timing and showmanship than power though.

Are you sure you're not confusing Zarate with Cuevas? (I heard of Pipino doing this at Gleason's Gym, along with Foreman, but never the bantamweight Zarate, although Carlos was known to have tremendous power for his size.

Wear and tear on a bag and hook do have to be considered as mitigating factors, of course.

But it wasn't like Marciano was the most accurate puncher when compared to ATG punchers.

Cuevas broke speed bags and other gym equipment from what I've heard.

    Yes and no.

Given his style and compared to other fighters with similar styles he ocasionaly threw out a shot with sickening acuracy.

The Harry Kid Matthews fight is a case in point.

The shot he knocked Walcott out with was not a fluke it was well calculated.

In some respects similar to the shot that won Walcott the title from Charles. Compare footage of them and you will see similar trickery before the shot lands.

He looked as if he broke his jaw on Hearns right hand at one point too.

    Oh boy, oh so funny.

Like Hearn's broke his hand on Hagler's hand before doing a little dance and being knocked out right? :rofl

I've heard the Liston stories of blowing out headgear and heavy bags.

The sparring videos I've seen of him are a bit limited. And I've never seen any of this on film.
