Wanted Kov to win but though Ward would win. I was surprised by Kov's patience and I think he won. I don't like Ward's style but I score fairly, because I don't like the people I like to win shitty decisions. Close, close fight, but Ward did not win enough rounds to come back from the knock down, his punches also had little effect. Lastly, American fighter wins in America with three American judges. I live here, but again, homefield advantage. All American fighter will forever have that question mark on them. ALWAYS fighting at home. Make this in Russia, with 3 Russian judges, with the crowd roaring after every punch. If you heard the crowd, they were screaming when Ward threw anything, yet at the end, they didn't seem to like the decision. Again close fight, either guy could win rematch, but you can't ignore the advantage. Immediate rematch.
Amazing fight ! Edge of your seat boxing . Can't say enough about the resiliency and determination of Ward. He dug himself out a hole and landed the most crowd pleasing dynamic sensational punches after the early rounds. Kovalev faded somewhat as the fight wore on as Ward predicted, and Ward really stepped it up. Can't say enough good things about Ward, and before the decision was announced I thought Ward really raised his stock with his performance. I thought Kov might get the decision, but I have no complaints about the decision. Ward's punches and body language were better IMO than Kovalev. Kovalev controlled a good portion of the fight, but you can't take this away from Ward. Sometimes a fighter can win a crowd and the judges over by reaching down deep and creating openings and Ward did that. This was a great fight man, both these dudes deserve props. Kovalev is one tough sunuvagun and Ward man can't say enough about the dude. This is one of the best fights I've seen in a long time.
