I think Ray Robinson was 85-0 with 69 KOs or something. Mike Tyson didn't have that many official amateur fights. Something like 24-3. I think he may have fought in a lot of smokers though.
Bernard Hopkins: 85-4 Floyd Mayweather: 84-6 Oscar De La Hoya: 223-5 Roy Jones: 121-13 Felix Savon: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/olympics/news/2001/01/06/savon_retires_ap/index.html In a prolific amateur career, Savon boasted a record of 358 wins and only 17 defeats.
Wilfredo Gomez: 96-3 Azumah Nelson: 50-2 Felix Trinidad: 51-6 (12 KOs) Thomas Hearns: 155-8 (11 KOs) Ray Leonard: 145-5 (75 KOs) Alexis Arguello: 58-2 (48 KOs) Michael Spinks: 93-7 (31 KOs) Muhammad Ali: 137-7
The 11 KO's for Hearns' amateur record always seems to surprise me considering the lethal right hand he had in the pros
Smokers are sanctioned amateur matches; and I believe Mike Tyson did have a fair few amater bouts; as he did go to the Olympic Trials; meaning at the time at least he had won one of the major national tournaments. Oscar De La Hoya I believe was 223-5 or so. And I'm almost sure both Wladimir Klitschko and Aleksandr Povetkin had over 200 amateur fights.
Lennox Lewis's amateur record was meant to be about 94-11. I've seen different numbers presented though, sometimes with more or less wins, sometimes with less losses (I've never seen him listed as having more than 11 losses though). I've got the results listed for about 77 of those fights for certain, though, so I can confirm 67 wins and 10 losses. The 10 losses I have listed are to : Donovan Ruddock, H Thompson, Tyrell Biggs, Vyacheslav Jakovlev, Jorge Luis Gonzalez, Aleksandr Miroshnichenko (all on points). Petar Stojmenov, T Littles, Ulli Kaden (all by split-decision points) Valeri Abadzhan (TKO3 loss, apparently a big left uppercut to the body that dropped Lewis to a knee having knocked out all his wind) Riddick Bowe's was rumoured to be like 104-18. But again, shrouded in a bit of mystery. It's odd. Evander Holyfield racked up 160-14. I've heard 24-3 for Tyson, but I've also seen 48-6 listed. With the 6 losses being to Ernie Bennet, Craig Payne, Henry Tillman twice (those 4 all by points), a DQ2 loss to Kimmuel Odum and a TKO2 loss to Al Evans.
Smokers aren't sanctioned. They don't have a winner or a loser (unless the fight is stopped). Otherwise they commission has to step in.
