Hello! I watched recently Toney against Mike Mccallum commented by Hagler (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru60nOgqVu4), and several Tyson's fights commented by Sugar Ray Leonard. I really truly enjoyed their insights and breakdown. Somehow I do not like George Foreman (with all respect) as a commentator Does anyone can name more great fights commented by great fighters? I am interested in the subject, so I would appreciate, if you spend time and write all you can remember. Thanx!
Marciano was an excellent commentator his comments on Basilio v Robinson are very insightful ,also Satterfield v Baker. I think Jim Watt is a good commentator ditto Barry McGuigan,I would call them very good fighters rather than great though.
Not a great fighter by any means but i like Glenn Mcrory as a comentator. He used to do many big fights for sky. Not so much these days they seem to stick him up in the studio doin punditry
All of them. Moore - H.Johnson, Lausse-Varona, etc. Marciano - Don "The Beast" Dockell is one of my favorites.
At one point Jerry Quarry seemed like he might have some prospects behind the Mike, Sadly it didnt pan out that way.
Will probably get a bit of stick for this but Roy Jones is my favourite to listen to - doesn't get blown away with his own importance but the things he says always carry more weight any of the other commentators working with him - understated but hard hitting
Joe Louis did the two Ali-Liston fights and may have done others. Joe wasn't very articulate but I liked him. Ali did commentary on the Patterson-Chuvalo fight and did a good job. He stuck to the fight and didn't do his idiot routine.
