I totally agree there; WHAT THE HELL was that about? Barkley was a crude face first brawler, whilst from Leonard to Hill to Benitez, The Motor City Cobra could outbox even the most consummate boxer, but Barkley could somehow (legitimately) outpoint him.

Landing a bomb (fight one), was to a point, shocking enough, but Hearns/BarkleyII is not a million miles behind Tyson/Douglas as an upset (at least from the point of view Iran outpointed Tommy).

It might be near Tyson Douglas if you're a complete simpleton, but an aging tired legs light heavy Hearns getting ouworked by a determined huge middle that had already knocked him out....well it's not on the same level as the supposedly young prime invincible talent getting dominated by a known quitter with no real quality wins.

Most people knew by then Hearns legs and ability to avoid punishment were on the decline and it's not like Barkley needed to outbox to outpoint.

Truth be told, Hearns' legs topped out at 154, regardless of age.

Hearns was coming off beating Hill. I am not saying it was a surprise Barkley won, as he had already beaten a better version of the Motor City Cobra. But the surprise came in the way Tommy was outpointed, it left me a little stunned. Beforehand I would of put the mortgage on Tommy winning a decision if he stayed on his feet for 12 rounds.

    More great picks Kmac. :good

    Bowe with Golota
    Chavez with Randall
    Camacho with Haugen
    Forrest with Mayorga
    Toney with Griffin

I almost put Paez with Troy Dorsey, but with the Benitez debate on greatness I think I'll save it for a later date.

On the contrary, Sir GayBooze, you, devalue the greatness of the sport, by limiting its pantheon to a mere 40 or so fighters.

No, I keep the word special and intestify the debate as to who is great and who is not, by keeping such a high threashold, so there can be very, very few easy answers.
