Well Mike blew that win by losing to Kalambay in his next fight.

Ray is pretty easy, you could list Kid, Fullmer, Turpin or Basilio and be fine. Dempsey is a bit tough, but I never liked his resume anyways. I would list Sharkey and Fulton. Louis is also tough, because again, I was never that big on his resume. If made to pick, it would be Schmeling, Baer or Walcott 2. Rocky, I would cite Walcott 1, Charles 1. Simply put, I hold most people I listed above to be better than Corrales, with the exception of Fulton maybe.

The Pac fight should have happened about 7 or 8 years before it did and Oscar was way past his best. I'd say Corrales was Floyd's signature win.

What would Joe Louis or Ali's legacy be without their rematches to Schmeling, Walcott, Frazier and Norton?
The answer, not as good. Lennox Lewis who said he would offer the re-match and did, in fact, try to make other matches post-Vitlai refused to offer one, down 4-2 on all cards in a fight that was stopped on cuts.

So Lewis ducked him and only retired when the WBC order the re-match.

    Vitali's legacy is this

1 ) 1st ballot hall of fame fighter, top vote-getter I think during the process as they listed his name first.

2 ) One of two heavyweight champions never to be floored by a punch

3 ) Owner of the best rounds won to round lost ratio on the card in the history of the division. Never losing more than 3 rounds on any card in all of his fights.

4 ) Coming back in his late 30's after a long layoff to dominate, wining a belt, and defending it a few times.

^^^ Any one of those would be a career for most boxers. Vitali has all four boxes checked. Very rare.

Vitali has no signature win and by and large his opposition was very weak.

How about Humberto Gonzalez? Would his signature win be Carbajal II or III...? Pipino Cuevas?

Sam Langford, Sam Mcvea, Kid Norfolk, Fred Fulton aren't signature wins?

The Oscar fight was a passing of the torch fight and the Pac fight was the biggest PPV, pfp 1 and 2 at the time.

I don't think Langford really has a single signature win, though he has plenty that would be worthy as signature wins.

    No there isn't.

Non great fighters don't beat Joe Gans, Young Peter Jackson, Stanley Ketchel, Philidephia Jack O'Brein, Sam McVea, Joe Jeanette and Harry Wills in a single career.

Is a signature win even a sign of a strong resume?

Every one hit wonder has a signature win!

Picking out one sentence- ...better than Corrales..forgot I mentioned him vs PBF, but U pointed it out to me! SO I concur; all those wins IMO are as good if not better than PBF's win over Corrales.

Not really. Most of them wiped the floor with him first.
