Floyd has to be the greatest fighter without a signature, career defining win. He never faced that prime, big time opponent when that opponent was at his best.

He has a lot of good wins, but no standout win. Then again, it is harder to get a signature win when you are the top dog. Anybody who beats you has one, though.

I know that Suzie, but I’m still not sure it’s a signature win for Foster considering all the physical advantages he held over Tiger.
I believe Foster was the favourite going in also.

Agreed and, for that reason, I'm not sure I could consider it a signature win. That said, there's not a lot else to choose from...

The thing is we shouldn't have to go searching for a "signature" win. If we do it simply isn't a "signature" win. I'm sure you will pick up what i am putting down.

I was about to type that I thought that Johansson II was Floyd's signature win. Then the rest of the post made me realize it was probably about Floyd Mayweather Jr., not Patterson. Every time I see "Floyd" in a boxing context my mind goes to Patterson. Middle age, I guess.

I'd say that Corrales was Mayweather's signature win. Diego was on fire at that time and the manner in which Mayweather shut him down was very impressive, as I recall (haven't watched the fight since it happened, tho). It made me realize that Mayweather was special.

Castillo was a great win for Mayweather. I was a big Castillo fan (I know his brother and cousins) and Floyd simply dominated him. Kind of puts the wins against Oscar, Pac, Mosley, and Cotto into perspective as to where those opponents were in their careers when Floyd ultimately faced them. They are all far bigger names, just nowhere near prime.

    For Patterson, you are right.

You still insult peoples intelligence with this gorgon even tough you've been beaten over the head with the counter argument time and time again.

Sam Peter is simply not a signature win. Eddie Chambers is literally half the size of Vitali and 40 pounds lighter yet he easily beat Sam Peter , so whats so great about that win?

Tyson Fury and Antony Joshua already have signutaure wins and wins that are far greater than any on Vitali's resume.
Hell , who has Vitali beaten thats better than Louis Ortiz?

And ... Whats so great about Vitali being an fist ballot hall of fame inductee. You don't seem to give a tinker's cuss that Winky Wright was also a first ballot hall of famer.

Plus the thread asks what ATG has no signature win. Show me a reputable source that has Vitali on a top 15 ATG list??? Chris Byrd is greater than Vitali ffs.

You must've watched a different fight than I did. Castillo won their first match, I'd hardly call a signature win.

Ha ha. I typed in the wrong name. I meant Corrales.

Can't believe I did that. The Corrales clan lived near me in Sacramento. I was honestly friends with Diego's younger brother. I never met or have been near Castillo.
