There were lots of potentially great match ups over the last 30 years that unfortunately never took place. The following are some I was hoping for, not necessarily in this order:

    1. George Foreman - Mike Tyson
    2. Riddick Bowe - Mike Tyson
    3. Mike Tyson - Michael Moorer
    4. James Toney - Michael Moorer @ 75, cruiser or heavy
    5. Roy Jones - Micheal Moorer @ 75, cruiser or heavy
    6. Mike Tyson - James Toney
    7. Julio Cesar Chavez - Simon Brown @ 47
    8. Julio Cesar Chavez - Terry Norris @ 47
    9. Julio Cesar Chavez - Vinny Pazienza @ 47
    10. Pernell Whitaker - Terry Norris @ 47 or 54
    11. Roy Jones - Nigel Benn @ 60 or 68
    12. Roy Jones - Gerald McClellan @ 60 or 68

am I missing any? And for the record, my picks in order are:

    1. FOREMAN (if the fight took place in 1990, as it should have)
    2. BOWE (Bowe fought like Tokyo B. Douglas every fight. big man, great jab)
    3. TYSON (walks through Moorer (no chin))
    4. DRAW (two of the meanest guys in boxing, but neither can hurt the other)
    5. MOORER (Jones winning on points until he gets caught - one punch)
    6. TONEY (withstands early onslaught, Tyson tires, Lights Out by decision)
    7. I CAN'T CALL IT (Brown much stronger at 147 but had difficulty making welter- could've tired later rounds)
    8. NORRIS (by TKO, too strong at 147)
    9. CHAVEZ (tougher fight than you'd think - Vinny was a natural welter, Chavez wasn't. Might've taken another Meldrick Taylor like finish)
    10. NORRIS (would've probably gone like Whitaker - Trinidad - Norris too strong)
    11. BENN (at the time RJ would've been a heavy favorite, but now knowing what we do about his chin, Benn probably would've caught him.)
    12. MCCLELLAN (a pick 'em fight at the time, but the chin...)

    Whatchu think about my analysis?

Great Analysis, Even if I disagree.

    My picks

    1. Tyson, Foreman to slow
    2. Tyson- I actually think Bowe was afraid, and would have found a way out
    3. Tyson- Moorer gets destroyed.
    4. Moorer, Busier in an ugly fight.
    5. Moorer, He only needs to land once.
    6. My surprise pick, Toney... Just mean and Tyson might try to box
    7. Chavez, KO
    8. Chavez, Body shots fell Norris
    9. Poor vinny... Chavez easy
    10. Norris, Yep to strong.
    11. Jones.... Close
    12. Toughest to call for me, pick em

    1. George Foreman - Mike Tyson - Tyson by UD
    2. Riddick Bowe - Mike Tyson - Tyson by K.O
    3. Mike Tyson - Michael Moorer - Tyson by decapitation
    4. James Toney - Michael Moorer @ 75, cruiser or heavy - Toney by UD
    5. Roy Jones - Micheal Moorer @ 75, cruiser or heavy - Jones by UD
    6. Mike Tyson - James Toney - Badly faded Tyson, Toney by SD
    7. Julio Cesar Chavez - Simon Brown @ 47 - Brown by UD or late stoppage
    8. Julio Cesar Chavez - Terry Norris @ 47 - Norris by UD
    9. Julio Cesar Chavez - Vinny Pazienza @ 47 - Chavez by UD
    10. Pernell Whitaker - Terry Norris @ 47 or 54 - Whitaker by UD
    11. Roy Jones - Nigel Benn @ 60 or 68 - Jones by UD
    12. Roy Jones - Gerald McClellan @ 60 or 68 - Jones by UD

Brown & Norris are just too big for Chavez.

Jones wins these matchups by fighting cautiously.

Klitschko vs Klitschko would have been a more than interesting fight.

There were a ton of 168 pound matchups that could have been made, when guys where in their prime. Never were. It was always undefeated champ vs retread but very very few A+ guys meeting each other. Or like Toney against Jones, we get a good match and one of the 2 shows up with their B game. About the only A game fight was Eubank/Benn 2.

You have Jones/Calzaghe/Benn/Toney/Eubank/Ottke and even Hopkins at 160---I think he jumps up to 168 for a payday. It would have been a fivefold increase in payday for him and I think he'd sign a contract for big bucks. He won't sign for a minimal or small payday against a Steve Collins or something but a high profile bout pays different.

But we the boxing public got a ton of A guy fighting 5 through 15 ranked opponent. Showcase fights for a big potential fight that never happened.

    Leonard
    Duran
    50/50
Could/should be Witherspoon but can see Holmes edging it. Tim was inconsistent

Liston should have been in the WBA Elimination Tournament. He would have won it in '68.
Jeffries vs Johnson earlier. Johnson wins in a closer fight.
    Dempsey vs Wills. Dempsey wins.
Foreman vs Quarry. I don't know.
    Foreman vs Tyson. Foreman wins.
    Johansen vs Liston. Liston wins.
Patterson vs Ellis II. Patterson, with fair judging, wins.

The foreman vs quarry fight is one that's makes me shudder I would not like to of seen this fight happen , not saying it's not a good call but personally the thought of quarry taking huge shots from foreman and the damage they would be doing coupled with the bravery that quarry would undoubtedly show . For me is just a recipe for a disaster

Obviously, Pedroza-Nelson. Eubank-Toney and Eubank-Jones are the first that came to mind. Lewis-Bowe comes to mind. How about Duran-McCallum or Hearns-McCallum 30 years ago? Or McClellan-Toney 20 years ago.

I agree with your analysis. Quite a few give Quarry a good chance in this one but I can't see it.

the rematch ali vs foreman in 77 that foreman would have won for sure. funny as norton and frazier got their rematches with ali and foreman did not when george destroyed these 2 men easily and he deserved a new shot for the title much more than them, who cares if norton did beat ali? he would know that he was not the real champ because george foreman was alive.. and he would get smashed once and again.
in 1990 foreman would have a very good chance to knock tyson out, tyson was bad mentally, he was not the same dedicated guy and foreman was in his best shape of his second career, he had iron chin, iron fists, great heart, great stamina, iron mind... at that time tyson did not land great combinations, he just was looking for a good punch and he did not do the same move of head to avoid shots.
foreman would have beaten larry holmes in 1988-1990. i don“t know how a static , slower, fat stylist could beat a dinamic, much more powerful, and tougher old man with a betetr chin and great stamina. foreman could even catch a peak evander.. this holmes is not running from george , foreman would win this fight by clear decision or even tko, larry would take a lot of damage.
joe frazier vs ken norton in 1973 instead foreman
joe frazier vs sonny liston in 1969
riddick bowe vs lewis in 1993
    jack dempsey vs harry wills
    riddick bowe vs mike tyson
riddick bowe vs tommy morrison( i did listen that morrison knocked him out cold in a sparring session)
    david tua vs riddick bowe
david tua vs mike tyson(i would have loved to watch this fight)
    cleveland williams vs floyd patterson
    gerry cooney vs earnie shavers
