    Lockridge v. Lopez.

    Best fight I've ever seen.

    Three words:

    Ward

    versus

    Gatti

If they don't like those fights, give up on them

Depends what you're looking for........if you're looking for just a decent amount of eye-candy (i.e., an exciting brawl) there are too many great ones to name, but for my own taste it has to be Chacon-Limon IV. That wasn't a fight, it was a triumph of the human spirit.

A little context will help the newbie appreciate what he's watching:

    Hagler - Hearns
    Foreman - Lyle
    Louis - Max Baer
    Louis - Schmeling
    Dempsey - Willard
    Norton - Holmes (round 15)
    Corrales - Castillo (round 10)
    Chávez - Taylor (round 15)
    Frazier - Ali I
Ali - Frazier III (rounds 13 and 14)
    Sánchez - Gómez

Somebody hit the nail on the head about attention span. Gonna show some fights to my mates who are non-boxing fans but a few enjoy MMA and 'shorter' combat sports, so the idea I was thinking was to show good action fights and also action fights that showed good enough technique to try and make them appreciate boxing more.

McCallum-Curry was a great shout aswell as Pryor-arguello 1. I also think Vargas-Trinidad is the type of fight that non-boxing fans would enjoy.
    Cheers for some top suggestions.

Aaron Pryor-Dujuan Johnson, Iran Barkley- Robbie Sims, Derek Jefferson- Maurice Harris
Gatti-Wilson Rodriguez, Gatti- Ivan Robinson 1. Both of Matthew Saad Muhammad vs Marvin Johnson fights were outstanding

It is hard to convert a non boxing fan into a serious one!!! Most of the guys I have gotten into boxing liked it back in the 70's or 80's and had just gotten away from the sport in the PPV era, and it was just a matter of rekindeling the fire.

I am not sure what to recomend to someone who never watched or liked boxing in order to convert them??? As for guys who used to like it, it is more a matter of finding out what they liked and finding that footage and other comprable footage.

Well for me it was the famous english trio of eubank, nez and bruno capturing the countries imagination, but underpinning that was the return of iron mike, in the build up to his challenge against bruno there was some awesome hype.

I say you try to recapture that magic.

Show tyson v berbick, bruno 1, holmes and spinks. Get them believing this man is a monster and then fire up the douglas - tyson battle. If that don't get them hooked then nothing will.

A while back I popped in a tape of Gatti-Ward I and Barrera-MOrales I for a couple of my non boxing fan friends, they got a kick out of it.. Cheering and reacting like if they were long time fight fans.... Rememer one of them commented how unreal it was l.. Ward and Gatti beating each other like something out of a Cartoon or comic book.

In the modern era,, ID say Tyson wins this hands down.. Non fans seem to drift there attention after a few rounds.. They knew tht most likely Tyson was gonna end it quick and violent. Tysons fighting style,(fame) appealed to the non fan, and his personal life and out of the ring behavior added even more to his appeal...

Half the Tyson fanatics back then, couldnt carelessa about catchin a big fight today.
