Said in antoher post that Fedor looked a little out of shape..but in the end he is that good to win the fihgt.
Fedor is always in that kind of shape and always fights from a very unorthodox Russian boxing style. There was nothing out of the ordinary here. Rogers is a big, strong, coherent fighter and did well, but in the end Fedor always finds a way to prevail. I definitely think Lesnar would give him all he could handle, though.
Honestly, Lesnar is slow compare to Fedor, it could end rather early for Lesnar if he doesn't take fedor down, but then again fedor off his back is still dangerous.
Lesnar is absurdly dangerous on top, though. Fedor was having some difficulties with Rogers, and Rogers had a pretty good G'n'P sequence against him on top. Lesnar is way more dangerous and controlling on the ground, and his G'n'P is brutal. I think Fedor's capable of knocking him out or possibly submitting him in a more unorthodox way than usual (not an armbar or anything), perhaps a leg lock as Mir pulled off. I definitely think Lesnar would be by far his toughest challenge. He's the only guy I can see pulling it off. I'd still favor Fedor though, to be clear.
Lesnar would have to really watch it as the more aggressive you are the more you play into Fedor's strengths. I just dont see how Lesnar could last with Fedor after 3 rounds of a UFC rule fight because Lesnar tires and Fedor would go to work on him then - I guess if Lesnar had already battered him a lot up to that point he may have a chance but imo Lesnar's only chance is to take Fedor out early but I dont see that happening...
Thats because he wouldnt. Theres two things that surprise alot of heavies and thats Fedor's speed and power. Fedor has VERY heavy hands. He has the uncanny ability to adjust and preempt what a fighter will do during the fight. Notice he finished Rogers with the same overhand right he used to KO Arlovski. Even though Rogers and Arlovski were the ones with the superior power, boxing skills, Fedor was the aggresor and did better in the exchanges. Fedor would still be the aggresor vs Lesnar and his ability to manourvre his opponents be it standing up or on the floor would have Brock in a submmision before he could even react. If Brocks only shot is shoot GnP then thats a real poor one. Coleman and Kerr perfected that style. It only took them so far in this sport. Eventually skills has to pay the bills. Fedor beats Lesnar via whatever he wants.
Brock cant fight off his back thats a dead cert. He's a wrestler and his JJ will only be extremely basic in terms of sub defense. His only chance would be simply to use brute strength to get up without exposing his back and i doubt he could do that very well as he's just not long enough in the tooth yet. Can you imagine Brock pulling rubber guard? As for taking one in the mush that remains to be seen. But if Randy Couture can unsettle him he's going to have much more problems with Fedor.
That's just Fedor... and it's part of what makes him great. I don't think it is as much him being sloppy... as it is the fact that he is just unorthodox. His awkward style is just another thing that makes him so difficult to fight. On his feet he is obviously dangerous as hell... on top he is brutal... and if you are lucky enough to get him on his back.... consider yourself unlucky because if you make one false move (or even if you don't), you are going to be fighting off an armbar shortly.
Fedor is the only guy iv seen who can pull off and armbar so quickly from guard. He's literally able to pull off an armbar from almost any position. Marvelous dexterity for a heavy. More so infact than a prime Big Nog imo.
