I know Tyson, Johnson, Byrd, Ali and Young(i need to see more
quality footage). Other mentions of fighters and/or fights.
Feel free to discuss favorite methods, head movement,
upper body movement, reflex based (Ali) etc.

Tyson was certainly the best heavyweight in terms of using their defence to set up their offence, however I'd have a tough time in giving hum the title of the best defensive heavyweight ever.

Defensively Johnson was so far ahead of his time in terms of defence that you could argue a real strong case for him, he simply was a genius

Ali is an interesting one. I'm sure many will pick him, but considering the amount of punishment he took over the years, and he took some pretty big shots even before his forced retirement suggests to me that it was his chi that made his defence seem a bit greater than it actually was.

Tunney, Byrd and Young could also be considered, however having seen limited footage of all 3 I be able to offer much input, I'm sure many others will though, but I have a feeling that Byrd will be mentioned by a very select few.

Cool. Ive been trying to watch Young vs Foreman, not good quality
Though. I know george was not as agressive as usual, but I expect
To see a boxing and defensive showcase from Young. Yes Tyson
was very hard to hit cleanly in his prime, the footage Ive seen of
Johnson looked unimpressive, however ive read he was a master
    Of parrying, ducking dodging, etc.

Then you're not watching the right footage. The man was simply brilliant, and would be a contender in any era.
