Not even close...Gerry fought a lot of cans, but way better opposition after a while. Gerry Looney Cooney would easily beat the crap outa Wilder. 6'7 samba dance all over the ring

Wilder can go on to make me change my answer, but as of now, Cooney all day!

Cooney had great physical gifts but had a terrible trainer and was weak mentally. He suffered from depression which seems fairly common among gifted boxers. Leonard has admitted he has had episodes of depression throughout his life. Cooney admitted after the Holmes loss that he sat in his basement basically eating pizzas and watching television for over a year before resuming any kind of boxing training. Tyson is another bi-polar depressant personality type. Wilder needs to fight a top contender to assess whether he has anywhere near Cooney's former considerable boxing talent.

I generally think Golovkin could beat Wilder.

Why do you think it's an impossbility for someone who wins fights at Middleweight to go up and win fights at Heavyweight to a glass chinned hype job who's gets knocked over by the likes of Harold Sconiers and Dustin Nicholls?

Recent GGG victim Ishida has gone up to HW and won a fight, and come close in his 1st. Wilder might be a lot better than them but GGG is also better than Ishida, and GGG hits like a Heavyweight according to Afolabi

And some guys have won fights against at 160 and Heavyweight against World Champions. Bob Fitzsimmons, Roy Jones Jr, Toney (if you inclide the IBA).

Cooney was legit... He'd put Wilder in a coma... heck, the washed up Cooney who fought Foreman would spark Wilder.

Cooney had a good chin in comparison and just as much power. So Cooney by devastating KO.
