I'm glad Weeks stopped it too and was surprised Angulo's corner allowed him out for the 10th round. Angulo was done with at that point and had no hope in hell, any more punishment and he could have literally lost his eye this time. His own trainer was threatening him to stop it, why the hell would anyone blame Weeks is beyond me.

I thought it was a good stoppage. Angulo was way behind and there was no reason for him to take more punishment

I think that he did a good job. Angulo was not there to win but to get more punishment.

Weeks is a much better ref than all the refs in England all rolled together.

He is one of the best refs in the biz

It was a good stoppage, Angulo was copping a savage beating, his head was swelled up like a balloon.

Sure is. Froch-Groves would've ended in classic but they got some stuip refs overseas, never seen Weeks, Bayless go over there and they the best

In my opinion, that particular moment wasn't the time to stop it; and based on Canelo's body language, even he seemed to agree. Alvarez has just landed a big shot, but Angulo took it pretty well; so perhaps allowing Canelo the opportunity to follow up may have been in order.

That being said, it was hardly the worst stoppage I've ever seen. And Weeks had been expressing concern about the punishment that Angulo was shipping for at least a few rounds prior to that point.
