Confirmed: Wlad-Chisora back on

Klitschko-Haye tabled for now
Heavyweight Dereck Chisora was celebrating tonight after promoter Frank Warren confirmed he will fight world champion Wladimir Klitschko in Germany on April 30. The British and Commonwealth champion was left devastated when Klitschko pulled out of their December 11 clash after tearing an abdominal muscle in training. But Chisora never gave up hope that he would earn a second chance against the IBF and WBO titlist. And today the fight was sealed for the end of April. “This news is a fantastic late Christmas present,” said the north Londoner. “I always believed that I would fight Klitschko, and my faith has been repaid. I was a bit worried that he might try and fight an easier touch, but I think I’ve earned my opportunity. I was gutted when Wladimir pulled out of our fight just a couple of days beforehand. But now I’ve got another chance to take his titles away. He’s a great world champion, but his time at the top is well and truly up. My promoter Frank Warren has done a great job in getting me this opportunity because there was no guarantee Wladimir would fight me again after he got injured.”

Haye camp rips Wlad

WBA heavyweight champion David Haye’s manager and trainer Adam Booth has ripped into IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko for opting to fight Dereck Chisora rather than a unification bout with Haye. “There were lots of people that know Wladimir really didn’t want this fight yet,” Booth told Sky Sports News. “It’s a shame. It’s embarrassing for boxing that the unification fight isn’t going to happen now because David’s bent over backwards. We’ve conceded to every single ridiculous demand they made.”
He continued, “From the start they said 50-50. David said fine, even though potentially we’re putting in the pot three or four times more than they’re putting into the pot because of pay-per-view Sky box office. David still said ‘let’s get the fight done 50-50′.
“They said the fight had to be on their German broadcaster even though our German broadcaster was prepared to pay more. We said fine. They said ‘we’re not coming to England for the fight’. David said ‘fine, I’ll go to Germany’. They said Wladimir has to be in the red corner, Wladimir has to come in second, Wladimir’s name has to be first on the poster and all these other ridiculous, egotistical things, and David said ‘fine, have it, just get him in the ring with me’.
“The last thing was, here is the date we now have, we said yes, Sky have approved that date and they turn round and say ‘we’re now doing Chisora’.
“Wladimir should feel ashamed of himself.”

Haye: I’m done with Klitschkos

WBA heavyweight champion David ‘The Hayemaker’ Haye has branded rival titleholder Wladimir Klitschko a ‘coward’, following the Ukrainian’s decision not to unify the belts in a 2011 showdown. A bout between IBF and WBO kingpin Klitschko and Haye appeared close to completion earlier this week, but Wladimir instead decided on an April 30 title defence against Britain’s Dereck Chisora on Wednesday.
“We agreed to a date of July 2nd at a venue in Germany with both Sky Sports and RTL and everybody appeared happy with the deal,” said a bemused Haye. “We made a few concessions to remove past stumbling blocks and were happy to do so, as it finally looked like the fight would get made.
“Even through negotiations, though, it was clear Wladimir was looking for the coward’s way out. He would often come up with new obstacles and problems to overcome, and I never once sensed he fancied it.
“He refused to come to England, wanted to pick his own gloves, enter the ring second, box out of the red corner and demanded a German doctor. He also wanted his name to feature first on any promotional material ahead of the event. We bowed to each and every one of his demands. I didn’t want to potentially jeopardise anything this time around.”
With everything in place for a Haye bout, Klitschko nevertheless settled for Chisora. Still adamant the unification clash will happen, Klitschko informed Haye that he plans to deal with both Brits in 2011.
“It should never have come to this,” said Haye, 25-1 (23 KO). “I was available to fight in May and June, yet Klitschko only gave me dates of April 30 and July 2. The April date would be too close to Amir Khan’s next fight, and prove problematic with Sky Box Office, so we settled for July.
“Klitschko claims he’ll fight both me and Chisora, but it’s nonsense. Are we expected to believe that a fighter who competed only once in the whole of 2009 and twice in 2010 is now going to box twice in a matter of nine weeks? A bout with me is the most lucrative, meaningful and dangerous fight Wladimir’s ever had, not some throwaway tune-up. Wladimir won’t fight anybody nine weeks after Chisora, let alone me.
“I now need to look for a fight of my own beyond April, as Amir Khan has that month tied up with his bout. Presumably Wladimir is expecting me to fight in either May or June and then face him in early July. It’s ridiculous.”
This latest twist in the Haye-Klitschko saga has angered the Brit more than any other and, as he now seeks out a title challenger of his own, the WBA champion is resigned to missing out on the fight he says he desperately wants.
“They demanded 50:50 right from the start and we eventually agreed and gave them all they wanted, despite the fact that our side brought three times as much money to the overall pot,” recalled Haye.
“We had venues available for May and June, but Wladimir had no intention of ever coming to England. Unfortunately, he claimed he had no venues available in Germany for May and June and that’s why we find ourselves in the situation we’re in right now.”
Haye added: “If the fight doesn’t happen now, it never will. I’m done with the Klitschkos. I know I can retire later this year with my head held high, knowing I did everything in my power to make these fights happen. I’ve had defining fights and beaten the best in the world as a cruiserweight, but, without me, Wladimir can never say he’s done the same as a heavyweight.”

I honestly don't believe he does all smart arseness aside. And i think either Klit knocks him out or shuts him out (cause he runs - in either fight).

Thats just David Haye's side of the story. Do you believe everything David Haye and Adam Booth say regarding the Klitschko negotiations.

I tend to agree with this...

Haye and Booth have never exactly been jumping out of their skin in the past with making the fight and Booth in particular comes from the Arum - "Yesterday I was lying, today I'm telling the truth" school of excellence.

Didn't Haye pull out from a previously scheduled back citing a pulled muscle in his 'Setanta' back...

Ippy, your a copper - 3 sides to every story - your's / there's / actual. You know it works!

By the way, I'm not defending the Klitchko's, just not jumping up in belief of Haye either.

I'll reserve judgement till I hear from them also.

To quote a famous line from a movie - "I want the truth"...

Im a huge fan of David Haye, but even i realise its a huge mountain for Haye to climb to beat either of the Klitschko's.

From a neutral perspective, you have to also consider that Wlad didnt want to sit around until July 2nd, as Sky refuse to do 2 PPV's in the same month of April in the UK, as they would have had Khan's proposed bout only 2 weeks earlier.

Yeah, either way, HW division is a complete joke. None of them are really that fit, the whole division doesn't even equal Mayweaters left arm for talent and none of them fight each other.

Haye may have given into demands but Klit does have more of a chance to fight more than once now. I believe he wants to fight Haye this year.

They're both as bad as each other and neither are THAT great that this fight should be as hard to make as it is. Would love to see it happen but the division has been 'meh' for so damn long it'll take more than these shlubs getting it on to reignite the fire.

Did you honestly expect Haye to fight for free? His part of the deal relied on getting money from Setanta which had gone bust.

Regardless, Wladimir is now fighting Dereck Chisora... the proof is in the pudding mate. It doesn't look like he ever intended to go through with fighting Haye and must've been negotiating with Chisora on the side.

The biggest thing about haye was that he didnt want to be contracted to fight a Klit 3 times if he wins. Thats is the general requirement for fighting a Klit right now and counts for all challengers.

Going into negotiations with Haye this time round involved contracts which didnt have that 3 Klit fight clause in it. This may have meant that if Haye wins there would be no rematch since he would retire, not allowing Klit to redeem himself. Chisora agreed to the 3 fight deal, so the Klit camp came arunnin'.
