This will be one of many threads of Great little fighters that were able to accomplish big feats and vanguish even bigger opponents in their careers. My first will be Joe Walcot(barbados). I was always fascinated by him. He was a 5'1 WELTER WEIGHT with skill and huge power, and no that is not a typo. Joe Walcot stood just Five foot one! I don't thinks its been any great lightweights that short, let alone welter weights. I'm absolutely amazed how he was able to stop the powerful Joe Choynski who stood 5'11. The same Choynski that Ko'd the Legendary Jack Johnson in just 3 rounds! From the reports the diminutive Walcott was absolutely Battering Choynski from pillar to post. The ref had to mercifully stop the fight. Its hard to say how these fighters that fought way back then would do in the current atmosphere because there is very little to no film of them. Therefore it would not really be fair to do mythical matchups. But i would be very curious to see how he would match up with the fighters of the 20th and 21st century. What do you guys think?
Joe Walcott could knock out any man. I think if he was around today he'd hold world titles in about five or six weight classes.
