I have heard this interview before, it was on Fight Network Channel 427 on Sky. I wish he and Hatton had fought, either at the time of the Maussa fight or Collazo fight. Interviewer: 'What do you think of a possible meeting with Ricky Hatton?' MC: 'It's going to be a war. He always comes to fight' Not sure whether Cotto could beat Mayweather though!
:good Yeah, I was checking clip's on the 'Tube and came across it.. I had never seen it before, So I posted it up pretty good interview.
IMO, I think PBF's retirement is the ultimate ducking move against fighters like Cotto, Margarito, and Williams.
Not so sure myself. I aren't a fan of Mayweather really, but don't feel he quit because of the other fighters in his division. I think he simply lost the desire and the drive to go out there and keep doing it - all the training, preparation etc. Having beaten every kind of fighter going up until the Hatton fight - to then tick that last box (skilled pressure fighter/brawler) must have made his mind up for him. To me, great sportsmen/women know when the time is right to step aside - far too many boxers have carried on way too long and not only tarnished their legacy, but damaged their health. In anybodies book, Mayweather is a great sportsman, and I feel that if he thinks it is time to go, he should be respected for it.
PBF better stay retired because the winner of Cotto-Margarito will be clamoring for his head. If his last two fights are any indication of what kind he's looking for, well let's just put it this way, if he gets in the ring with either Cotto or Margarito, he won't being seeing money green, he will see bloody red.
I think Margarito would have a better chance than Cotto of beating Mayweather - even though Cotto is favourite to beat Tony. Mayweather would have to 'pot shot' against both - but as Margo has a better chin than Cotto (than anyone, actually) he would be able to just walk Floyd down - trouble is he may end up getting schooled! Cotto would try to box a little which would play into Floyd's hands - I like both Cotto and Margarito, but Floyd has the beating of both of them I'm afraid.
Let Mayweather himself tell you about a possible Cotto match.. during his "In Your Corner" segment while he appeared on FNF's as a guest. Before the WWE Big Show match. BY HIMSELF??????? Or by Hatton and De la Hoya??????? Mayweather is full of ****!!!! If he could sell millions of PPV by himself then he won't need to worry about Cotto fan base. Simply and clearly full of ****!!!!
Exactly what I was going to say, and beleive me Cotto does have a fan base I have not in the last four years seen any Cotto fan walk out of one if his fights early, I have not heard the pack house at MSG boo Miguel Cotto. Floyd needs to stay retired at this stage.
