I don't agree. It's a myth that most people boycotted the fight. The ppv numbers prove otherwise. Therefore what are you gauging this theory that people boycotted dela hoya v pac on? Surely not on a forum poll? How could you tell that the casual fan was not interested in this fight? Because it did less than mayweather's numbers?

There is no way to tell that people boycotted the fight. That is a myth with no substance.

    Just a case of circumstances.

Had Floyd fought JMM pre-Oscar and Pac fought JMM post Oscar there is 0 doubt in anyones mind that Pac-JMM would do bigger numbers. Floyd fought him at a better time, when he was a bigger star, when JMM was a bigger star, at a higher more popular weight class.

Had Pac KO Hatton first, took away his undefeated record, pre-reccesion then Floyd fought Hatton afterwards, again, I believe that extra 100k difference in ppv buys would have swayed in Pac's favour. Floyd just fought Hatton at a better time, when Hatton was still undefeated.

Had Pac beaten Oscar DLH first in a very boring fight, then Floyd fights Oscar afterwards, I have no doubt in my mind Pac-Oscar would have done better numbers. Who would wanna see Oscar-PBF when Pac just beaten Oscar in a boring fight where Oscar left a lot of fans with a sour taste in their mouth. Floyd fought Oscar at a better time.

The constant is there, timing. That is undeniable that Floyd fought all those guys at a better time.

For Example, Pac-Clottey did 700k. Do you think if Floyd were to fight Clottey now it would draw 700k? Very very doubtful, specially as Clottey is now known to be a very boring fighter.

Floyds argument for better PPV buys is the same argument as Pac fans saying Pac-DLH was a better win than PBF-DLH because Pac KO him and was more dominant. Ignoring the circumstances around the fight and simply looking at "numbers" and results. Floyd fans will argue "timing", Pac fought DLH at a better time, when he was more past it and weight drained...yet they wont apply the same logic to PBF getting higher ppv numbers.

I feel that people buying those PPV in Floyd's fights are more becaue they want to see him get KTFO rather than get entertained by his boring ass.

  10. would it matter to you if a mu****a gave you a million dollars because he liked you or a million dollars because he hated you? It doesn't ****in matter, as long as you get paid. Whippin a mu****a ass while gettin paid is just icing on the cake. Personally, if I was in floyds predicament, I wouldn't give a **** about pleasing fans either. Becuase boxing fans are about as fickle as a white ***** on her period.

    C'mon, let's get real here.

DLH is exciting. Tyson is exciting. Pac is exciting.

    Floyd is boring as ****.

What is the only conclusion we can make out of these PPV numbers?

People bought those PPV because they want to see Floyd's boring ass get KTFO.

Floyd is the face of boxing?:rofl:rofl

  12. regardless. the mu****a is making money. and I think he is only boring to mu****as who don't appreciate true boxing.

Ted Bundy (if he were alive) could train for a boxing match, get a fight with Wladimir and generate enormous PPV.
