    Sports Illustrated actually backed Leonard in the Hagler fight. I don't think the way Ray won the fight was that surprising. Had he mauled Hagler, or did the unthinkable and stopped him, then that would have been a huge upset. Ray's defeat of Hearns in their first fight was a bigger upset in the way that he won, stalking Tommy and looking for the KO, while Tommy got on his bycycle and tried box his way to a decision. Going in, most thought that the roles would have been reversed.

    Duran over Barkley sure surprised me.

    Good list. I haven't seen it, but the bolded one especially jumps out to me. The guy only had 3 stoppage wins going into the fight with Muhammad.

    I'll throw Tszyu-Phillips into the mix, too.

    I know where your coming from and there was a few picked leonard but the majority fancied hagler strongly. The bookies in the UK and Ireland had Leonard at 8-1 and its not often these guys are wrong
