Anybody see some of the odds? The whole "chinny Khan" thing seems to have some legs because Khan isn't nearly as overwhelming a favorite as he probably deserves to be. That means it's a great investment for betters. I put money on Khan winning by decision (11/5), as well as by KO any of the last three rounds (7/1, 10/1, 12/1) in such a way that I'll at least double my total investment if Khan wins in any manner from the 10th round on, which is when I expect a victory to come. Yes, I know there's a chance Maidana will KO him and derail the whole thing, which is why we call it gambling. But it's definitely one of the better wagers available on boxing this year.
ha! Sorry, keeping it to invest in this fight. I swear, my returns on my boxing account this year are higher than in my stock portfolio. It's crazy.
Sorry to hear that, then! You were probably on the edge of your seat in the first round and the last three. I know I was. I'll admit, I've never been so scared or anxious watching a fight in my life. I only started betting on fights this year, and while I never bet more than I can afford to lose, the level of anxiety it adds is such a rush that I don't know how I can *not* bet on big fights anymore. Overall, with the wager I constructed, I got a return of about 115%. That's not an *awesome* return, but considering that it included better winnings for the most likely outcome (Khan decision) than a straight wager for a Khan win, as well as Roach's own predictions of a late KO for the possibility of huge money, it was a really nicely put together wager.
