Good thread hope it goes on. Really its up to personal choice as I love technical boxing with decent action so I go for guys duch as Ezzard, Walcott, Moore, Johnson, Louis, and am doing a bit of research on Napoles and Monzon(Monzon mainly a 70's fighter but still fought in late 60's green or not). Gavilian/Bratton trilogy was good but again it depends on personal choice. Lamotta, Marciano, Basilio, Robinson, etc. other names yet still scientific despite bringing a good chunk of action to most of their fights recorded. Armstrong is another great mention as is Canzoneri.
I went through a faze where i loved carnera, i have just about every photograph i can find, if there was a guy with a camera at one of his fights, i will have a few photos, i have alot of the mussolini propaganda photos, and the hitler schmeling propaganda photos. i will upload some because people more than likely wont have seen them before, if you have a fight or fighter you want photos from just ask, now i know how to do it en mass.

I'm sorry, but none of these fighters had the benefit of modern training methods. They can't be any good.
there's dozens & hundreds of them, BUT 3 that prove the fighters are Great, when the footage often wasn't are Tony Canzoneri vs Frankie Glick Benny Lynch vs Jackie Brown Jackie Paterson vs Theo Medina but there are hundreds more yet, especially as the footage improved by the 50s
Also the cameramen were woefully uneducated in the arts of filming, they did not have modern film, HD and/or multiple camera angles....so we can only surmise that the fights also sucked!
