The recent British Title fight between Gary "Five Star" Sykes and Carl Johannson, after Sykes suffered a bad knock down in one of the later rounds and managed to recover and come back at the end of the round and while returning to his corner his coach shouted several times in his ear "That's what champions do!" Got me syked.
"Listen to the Father John" Micky Duff (?) to Mugabi against Hagler. There was a Priest in the corner for spiritual guidance
The greatest is probably Futch to Frazier: "Sit down, son; it's all over, no one will ever forget what you did here today." Pastrano when asked if he knew where he was "You're damn right I know where I am! I'm in Madison Square Garden getting the **** kicked out of me!"
Vic Andretti just before first bell in Nigel Benn's corner in fight with Iran Barkley ''Nige....Nigel!!! You know everything i said...well forget that and just go knock the **** out''
Thats class. There was a ref who used to ask the fighter his name and date of birth (or something) to see how clear there head was. He asked a fighter this after several knockdowns and he got up and gave his name, dob, address and phone number.........or something. He let the guy continue. Anyone know who the fighter/referee was ?
