Great performance by Vitali, but let us all not forget...

The cut was extremely ugly and I don't think that Vitali has been robbed, but the fight was definitely close. IF the fight would've lasted longer I believe Vitali would've won...but there's always an IF. The fact is that Lewis won the fight. Period.

We have all understood by now that you praise fighters with granite chins (as if that is the most important thing in judging boxers) and diss technical fighters who don't possess the best chin in the world, but to have that opinion of Lewis is just sad.

Too bad Vitali got beat by the worst possible version of Lewis. Deal with it instead of dreaming. If you think of it, you'll find that your statement ("Vit would beat any version of Lewis") is funny.

The difference between Lewis's legacy, resume, achivements and standing in the HW division is much more impressive and significant than Vitali's so why would they both be thinking the same thing ? - doesn't really make sense.

Lennox Lewis proved himself a master boxer and dominant heavyweight many times over, his legacy is secure, Vitali or Wlad or any other of the current average heavyweights are not fit to lick Lennox's boots, IMO.

 

It was proven last night just how great Lewis was, considering the circle jerk that's going on around here about VITLAYS age. Lewis was the same age when he beat the snot out of a prime VITLAY, and thems the facts :smoke

 

Lennox was an All Time Great. Sure his class is above the Klitschkos, no doubt about that.

BUT, you're bashing the brothers too much. They are solid heavyweights, they may not be particularly entertaining or flashy in the ring, but remember that Lennox wasn't entertaining in many of his fights either.

And before you say anything, I'm a huge fan of Lewis

I actually think Lewis would have went on to win the fight, it was a draw after 6 rounds for me, with Lewis winning rds 3 5 & 6, Prime Vitali started well against a past prime Lewis who clearly wasnt in peak condition

Mid 90's Lewis is in a completely different league to either Klitchko, even an old Lewis would have blasted Peter in a couple rds.

Absolutely well wrote Jack! Lewis knew he may not get so lucky and ran away from the rematch. And remember that Vit came back after a 4year layoff and at 37years the same age as lucky-Lennox retired, and beat an incumbant heavyweight who these assholes were claiming unbeatable by Vitali.
