Boxingfan, not sying I would go that far with Wlad, but to be fair, no one that gets in with him wins, and usually gets KO, and usually do not win a min of any round... He seems pretty good to me... Chambers did his best to survive (not to win), and he still could not finish on his feet.
Although I agree Andy there are guys on ESB who believe Wlad is an ATG based on beating the likes of Eddie Chambers, that isn't right.
WTF? Am I the only one who think it is one of his worst win ever? Except for the 11 and 12th round, he was way too inactive and over cautious in there. Good thing Manny Steward fired him up.
Holmes was great but got knocked on his ass by none other than Reynoldo Snipes and fought endless, hopeless opponents like Frank Scott or was it Scott Frank?, I just remember some really short skinney white guy oh and then the great Scott Ledoux, who could barely throw a combination without falling on his huge butt. C'mon people let's not overstate Holmes opponents. Wlad has fought much tougher foes, always going after number 1 contenders from America or dudes like Sam Peter or top Euros like Chagaev. Wlad is top shelf in terms of quality of opponents and mastery of boxing skills. Deal with it.
If I need to explain to someone why Holmes is better than Wlad, why he's a concensus top 5 ATG HW, then that person is not worth explaining to, sorry.
