Were the Cotto and Margarito fights below the full weight limit?

How important is the fact that neither Pac nor Margarito were even ranked at 154 before they fought for the vacant "title" and that this was Pac's first and only fight at that weight? Oh yeah, that Margarito was coming off of a one-year suspension and only had one fight since the suspension against a non-ranked opponent.

When a fighter of the caliber of Adrian Broner has 4 titles in 4 different weight classes, I think it shows how watered down titles nowdays are and shines a true light of the actual significance of Pacquiao winning 8.

Not a bad piece for once. Even though Barrera was the better win, and a couple of them were catchweights.

Man, what are you talking about. The Judah fight was at 147. Cotto's last fight at JWW was in 2006, 3 and a half years before he met Pacquaio at 145. The weight didn't matter though, Pacquaio would still beat the **** out of Cotton.

The fact that Cotton hired some random guy as a trainer for the biggest fight of his career is what's more baffling.

Correction, Cotto fought Judah 2 1/2 years before Pac, and fought Malignaggi 3 1/2 years before Pac.

Just over a year before facing Pacquiao, Cotto got the dog**** beat out of him by Antonio Margarito.

........and just 5 months prior to facing Pacquiao, Cotto looked less than stellar in a fight with Joshua Clottey, a split decision victory that most thought he lost.

Still after all of that, Pacquiao insisted and forced Cotto do come down to a catch weight.

I agree Pac was the smaller man, but it does mean something if a fighter has to suddenly be a couple of pounds lighter than they could normally be at a weight division they fight in. It would possibly make them a bit weaker and less durable than what they would be with the extra couple of pounds.

Pac-Margo was a disgraceful title fight. This title means absolutely nothing to me.

The fact that Cotto was a small welterweight made it easier to shed the 2 pounds. Its not like Geale shedding 3 pounds to make a weight when he's already drained to make the regular full limit.

The third Marquez fight was my favorite. The cuts Pac received in that fight have yet to heal.

I think it was because of how good Miguel also looked that night. He was physically and mentally there to win. (I know of the outside issues, trainers etc, but it didn't show at all) Pac went to another level that Cotto couldn't, and he's not a guy that you do that to.

How do you know how easily Cotto made weight. He struggled with LWW and has fought inside the MW limit.
Height doesnt always determine how easily someone makes weight
