And Mayweather Cotto will DOUBLE Pac Bradley for multiple reasons. Cotto is a hero....a perrenial top 10 fighter whose been at or near the top of his class for more than a decade. Whereas Mayweather has also been there for as long, he's also been hated for about 4-5 yrs now for his notorious cherry picking. And Pac, although he's got his own detractors, namely Fraud fans, he's not hated by the casual fan, so ppl don't genuinely want to see him KTFO like they do May. Bradley needs to get his cherry popped, but he aint hated except maybe by hardcore Khan fans, but they are few and far between. These are both great fights, and neither are complete washouts, but May/Cotto will sell far greater b/c Cotto is a hero and May is a villain. There's just no villain in the Pac/Bradley fight. :think
i dont realy care about ppvs i just want to see that fight i dont no why fans care who makes more an who doesnt its not like were gettin any of the money.as a fan i just want to see that fight so people can finally stop goin on about the same stuff everyday.
:good This. . . Lol, it's funny to see Mayweather, and Pacquiao fans alike bragging about "how much they make". . . LOL, like they are getting a cut. . Then, they will justify their fighter's excuses not to make the fight. . . These are the type of fans who enable these guys to make bullshyt fights. . . Although I think Cotto/Mayweather is a legit fight, because Mayweather's concept of "leftovers" is just ignorant. . . And Cotto is no better, nor no worse than he was fighting at 145. . . I also think Pac/Bradley is a very good fight. . . He brings nothing to the table financially, is on just about every pundit's pound for pound list, is fast, has good defense, is undefeated, and a VERY awkward style to look good against.
The Mosley-Pacquiao numbers are way off in that too. He did not do 1.3 million buys. He did 1.1 as the cable networks totaled up. I don't listen to Arum as he is known to lie through his teeth all the time. He was even exposed for lying by the mediator. Team Mayweather was never exposed for lying by the mediator...:think LOL AT THE BIAS HE SHOWED....HE DIDN'T INCLUDE THE DE LA HOYA FIGHT! THE #1 REVENUE PRODUCER OF ALL TIME...IT'S FUNNY HOW *******S DON'T LIKE TO SHOW THIS ONE. THEY MAKE EXCUSES NOT TO PUT THE DE LA HOYA FIGHT IN THERE.
We are on a boxing website where fans can discuss ANYTHING related to boxing...get over it n deal with it.:deal
I don't think May/Cotto will quite double Pac/Bradley, but it will definitely big-time outsell it for exactly the reasons you stated. Great post.
I honestly wouldn't be shocked if it was Floyd's best performing PPV event since De La Hoya. Obviously, it's not coming close to it -- but more than 1,400,000 (Mosley) ? Possible.
I recently read that Paulie Malinagi has a fight coming up, (or maybe just happened?) - PPV in Europe. Go figure.
I think Cotto is the 3rd biggest draw these days and then Shane Mosley... I was trying to think of a PPV draw, still fighting (not top 3), other than Shane at the 4 spot... Margarito maybe #5 and then there is everyone else I suppose....Marquez isn't a draw on his own....:huh
Probably correct, I was speaking only about the PPV era which really solidified itself in the early 1990s with Foreman/Holyfield and Tyson/Ruddock II. Leonard-Hearns I was estimated to of drawn over 300 million viewers worldwide.
