One of my favorite sidebars to watching old fights on CLASSIC are the itros when we get to see legendary champs introduced to the audience before big fights ... so often they are chopped out to make TV time for the fight itself on replays ... they happens to be a great one before the Clay - Jones in 63 ... we get to see Dick Tiger, Barney Ross, Rocky Graziano, Sugar Ray Robinson, Gene Tunney and Jack Dempsey ... really cool stuff ... watch a yong Clay bow to Sugar Ray ... watch Dempsey and Tunney embrace and get a HUGE standing ovation ... just fun stuff ... Any other clips out there like this one ? [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXMJpcJT8Kw&feature=related[/ame]
And "the prophet of boxing", not yet popular... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9llh_lVXjBI[/ame]
Marciano Walcott I Joe Louis, Ezzard Charles, Ray Robinson, 2 Ton Toney(Legend or not, he was royal for knocking down Louis) Barney Ross, Lew Tendler, Chuck Davy, Jimmy Bratton, and a few others I belive. With out watching the fight of couse lol.
I'm trying to remember the fights ... I've seen Jack Sharkey, Braddock, Schmeling, many others ... it's a thrill to see Dempsey and the huge reactions he always got ,,, what was the fight they always show from the little men section where Dempsey was the ref ? A thrill to see him think in the ring and move about ... at least to me .. you get a study of the man you really never see anywhere else ...
