Great punches you saw a fighter take without going down, incredibly

Yea he took everything prime Lewis had and didn't even flinch.
At least Mercer tucked his chin good, Mavrovic had his high in the air few times, and Lewis still couldn't hurt him

I can never seem to find that shot as it was so fast and the camera angles seemed to hide it ..

Hey 70's; that's the FIRST one that came to my mind. OMG. IMO if any shot Jerry took precipitated his later dementia that certainly may have been the one.

Everyone seemed to land cleanly on the iron chinned Marcos Villasana, though no one ever deterred or hurt the teak tough Mexican. He had two bouts against Azumah Nelson, two against the extremely hard hitting Paul Hodkinson and one against Jeff Fenech, who badly broke both his hands beating on Villasana. Esparragoza was another real big hitter of the era that landed plenty but couldn't deter Marcos.

Check this out at 12:54. The second bout between Basilio and DeMarco. Basilio catches a left hook and does his version of the Judah dance. About the closest to going down without going down.

George Groves on Carl Froch in their first fight.
It was something like the 5th round and Groves lands something like 4 successive huge right hands on the cobra who didn’t flinch.
Just one of the same ilk had knocked him down badly in the first round.

he looked very hurt even if he stoppage was premature given ruddocks record of recovering quickly.

Tbh giving a guy who is ruddocks size or bigger credit for taking Tyson's shots is hard for me because when you're that much bigger you're supposed to be able to take the other guys shot even if he's a big puncher.

After all taking Bob fosters shots never gets brought up when discussing Frazier's chin

I found the way Holyfield took Tyson's shots much more impressive. Tyson really loaded up on his bombs and holyfield was slightly buckled a couple of times but never in danger of being stopped and came back with his own shots in response 9/10 times. The times when he didn't immediately fire back and smothered instead where the ones that he really felt but still he showed a concrete jaw and calm under fire and was back in action 10 seconds later the few times Tyson stunned him

Since Sam Peter appears to be a bit in vogue lately, I thought I'd post a HL of his first fight with Wlad. There used to be a shorter version of this vid that just showed Peter eating every right hand that Wlad threw at him, but it seems to have been taken down. It's insane the amount of flush right hands and left hooks Peter takes without even flinching. Only the last left hook appeared to hurt him, but that was after a ton of clean punches when he was already dog tired in the final round.
