Great sneaky punchers (Great, great, great....great, great Walcott highlights vid)

I love the way he moves in the opening part of him sparring around 7 second in its like he's floating.

Archie Moore could be a sneaky puncher.

 

Moore easily; he has at least a 120 odd victims to prove this.

 

The way he doubled back on himself was astonishing.

 

It's a treat to watch Walcott. Great jab, stiff and accurate, but more than anything else I love his defense while staying in the pocket. His movement is also lovely. He had a tendency towards sloppines it seems, though.

 

Wlacott could feint with any part of his body.

 

Yeh you never see that anymore I remember Moore saying Burley could feint with any part of body as well even his eyes or something crazy like that.

Hopkins is a sneaky puncher today he throw his right hand when a lot aren't expecting it.

 

Louis didn't seem very good at cutting the ring off on Walcott. May be a reason as to why he often had some trouble with movers.

 

Yeah, his feints are beautiful to watch.

 

Oliver McCall and Georgie Benton, look at Olivers KO's, his stoppage of Akinwande especially , he set the whole thing up systamatically and hid the final punch behind a jab.. Larry Holmes was a sneaky puncher too , he would slip a heavy handed shot in without showing it , its like a fighters way of telling lies, the art of disguise and feinting is a thing we don't see much any more.......

 

Good call on Holmes, although he was far more effective at it up thru around 82 or so with it. Afterwards it was something that was missing from his game and would've served well in those Bey/Frank/Smith/Williams efforts. Those guys were prime targets and vulnerable to that kind of attack but it was part of an older guys deterioration & just not there anymore.

Alexis Arguello was another master with a sneaky punch and would patiently set things up. Sometimes it appeared too much so. But whenever he did fire off that right hand lazer beam, it was usually the end of things. The opponents of Alexis sure knew he had that missile though and Arguello had to have that great discipline to wait for that window of opportunity. Sometimes it'd be early and he'd just devastate a guy, but it was always fun watching a master waiting for that missile to get launched.

 

louis looks very slow. walcott looks pretty good (fast hands) but he's open for a quick good right hand especially if you take a step right simultaneously.
