Great Southpaws with good right hands

    I am just watching a 2004 Broadcast Boxing show and saw a green Sechell Powel smashing his opponent using a right hook primarily. This led me to thinking which greats (or good) southpaws throughout history used a right hook or right jab as a major weapon?

    Winky Wright had a great jab. Andy Ganigan had a hell of a hook.

    Reggie Johnson upset light heavyweight champion Guthrie with a brutal right hook.

    Guthrie was out for quite some time.

    I remember Freddie talking about how Manny was going to start using it more before the Morales fight, Lampley kept commenting on it. They called it Manilla Ice I believe

    Saldivar is a good mention. He was industrious and versatile with his right hand.

    Michael Moorer used his jab well and had a lethal right hook.

    Good shout on Navarrete; his lead hook,straight left follow up was mesmerizing stuff - just ask Boza Edwards,who did a fantastic job of catching almost every single combination directly on the chin.

    It's my favorite southpaw punch. Very very effective but so few guys really have it. It works terrific against the opponents who throw right hand leads.

    Another guy with a real good one not mentioned yet, was Frankie Liles. That 1 punch ko over Littles is an alltime great right hook from a southpaw. Picture perfect.

    It is a punch in the toolset of Antonio Tarver as well. He never got much in the way of ko's, but he did starch Jones with it. I always thought Tarver threw it like Nunn did, effective but not a killer shot.
