Great Use of the Jab

Even though I've seen this before, I'm just stunned at how good Harada looks here...and he performing against another all time great in jofre, which makes it all the more significant. harada wasn't just a busy swarmer...he was the eleite of swarmers...with skills..a fine jab and ring intelligence.:thumbsup

 

The rest of your post explains that this isn't true. Being able to throw the jab as a counter makes the jab better. It's the same as throwing a perfect jab on a heavy bag but being unable to land it on a moving target. I'd rather have a less perfect one that I could actually use. The one that gets the work done is better, despite the form. Goloto simply had a more efficient jab.

The rematch was anything but clear cut, in my opinion. I actually had Jofre just edging it, I believe.

He looked fantastic to me Jarodz...maybe it's been a long time since I've seen this fight,and maybe there are good excuses regarding Jofre's performance,but Harada sure performed at an amazing level of skill against an alltime great like Jofre...using the jab to perfection toset up that buzzsaw attack of his...he looked so balanced..

 

Yeah,the rematch was very close..but what a fighter Harada was..both times really.

 

I disagree wholeheartedly, Greg, although that seems to be the notion according to many. I thought neither men had notably declined, although Harada didn't look as sharp to me. I'll chalk that up to the night. By contrast, I thought Jofre performed very well, and was perhaps a shade sharper than in the first fight. More battle-ready he seemed. That said, I haven't seen it in a good while so my memory could be playing tricks. I'll have to watch it again sometime soon.

 

Carlos Ortiz put on a jabbing clinic against Joe Brown. Barely even threw his right in that one.

 

Yeah G, i kept thinking to myself, alright now he's gonna throw that right.

lol, and you wont even need all 10 fingers to count how many rights he threw in that fight. that's how it seemed at least. But one of the best jabbing displays i've ever seen, no doubt.
