Great Use of the Jab

Yeah, Joe Brown was extremely solid from what i've seen of him. That's what makes it such a great display. It wasn't against a limited 1 dimensional fighter.

 

Brown was ready to be dethroned by a good fighter by then imo, though he was still a very solid fighter.

say what you want about ancient fighters. he was still the champ and well respected. stracey used his pretty unrefined unpolished long jab and just kept hammering home.





glen johnson vs alot of people but a good example vs mack. mack is longer, has a better polished jab. but glens thumb up jab is so aggressive and effective that he cant get off.

muhammad ali vs bob foster
ali has arguably the faster jab and uses it more as his trademark, but foster beats him to the punch and cuts him with it.

montell griffin vs roy jones I

jones comes in throwing his flash, but montell ignores it and just keeps his distance and then reverting jones into a jabbing match. which montell is too far away to be lunged at.
then montell jabs him and back him up. for the whole fight montell almost created a syntax error in the jones fight plan. by threatening with the right hand and his illusiveness while continously landing jabs to jones body. which backs jones up and then griffin goes for him in the corner.
underated technician is griffin i feel. futch's last disciple.

also kenny norton against ali. the way he altered his cross arm block into a jab parry. to which ali wasn't equipped on the other end meat that every jab ali threw it would be returned with a jab to the face which ali would take full force

Sweet Pea vs Nelson was a great display.

Virgil Hill used his jab to become champion twice.His bout with Hearns was a jab clinic.

Winky made Trinadad eat his jab the entire bout.

Hell DM out jabbed Virgil Hill which was quite a feat.

 

And Danny Green used his jab against Flores to perfection as well.

 

yeah good point that winky trinidad should be at the top list. the only punch that landed in the fight
