There's no denying it, his chin is glass... that does not make him a lesser fighter though, he's still the best since Pernell Whitaker. :smoke
his chin was only a problem at 175, besides he was getting caught by haymakers he never saw coming.id say 7 of 10 guys would have went to sleep as well under those conditions.
That KO with Tarver didn't look right. The way his neck tensed up and the movement of his body shows he may have some brain/central nervous system issues going on. My wife watched that fight with me (and she is a physical therapist who works with TBI's) and she thought he may have a brain injury.
His chin is glass my ass.......might not have the best chin but its decent and certainly not glass. Funny after a couple if heavy KO's (they were good shots) that some label him as glass. Does that mean any fighter who has been KO'ed has a chin of glass?? Being KO'ed is a part of boxing.
I've always said it, Roy Jones chin isn't glass, it's just that he got caught with a good shot. That happens in boxing. Roys chin is probably average. In the end, Roy should have fought Tarver at CW - or at a catchweight of 185lbs. I mean Tarver was the contender and really wanted that fight, he would have agreed to these terms, plus he'd still been the bigger man in the ring - bulking up to that weight is no problem for Tarver. On a sidenote, Roy Jones took a huge right hand from James Toney and wasn't even bothered - that scene is definitely missing in the video.
I've seen some of the other video's this guy put together - They are all great! Anyone who thinks Jones "always" had a suspect chin is just plain stupid or ignant.
