What do you reckon is the best wins that didnt get much credit on fight night but were hailed as great/good wins later in the career of a boxer

Jones-Hopkins, Burley-Moore, Dejesus-Duran, Leonard-Duran 1 all became far more significant when those losing fighters went on to prove allot

I'l probably get torn apart for this but I think Tyson over Holmes doesn't get enough credit - not saying it was one of the all time greatest wins or anything - but Larry went on to school a prime Ray Mercer - and at a far greater age and far far worse shape a prime Evander Holyfield couldn't do much with Larry whereas Tyson anihilated an only 2 years removed from his career Larry Holmes - did anyone ever knock Larry out in the manner that Tyson did??

tommy gibbons, unbeaten at the time, giving a prime harry greb a serious beating...2 years before greb beat gene tunney...

it was 4 years since greb was beat and he would go on to be unbeaten after this fight for another 3 years, and that was in a gene tunney rematch

it should be noted that greb won a tight rematch with gibbons very soon afterwards, a few months i think...in an open air arena where there was a terrible rainstorm during the fight that they fought through...greb came on stronger towards the end of the fight in the bad weather.

gibbons only lost to the very best...greb, tunney and dempsey...he lost a DQ to billy miske.

    doug.ie out.

Froch V Pascal is a more recent one.
Lewis V Vitali is worth much more now that it was back then.

Langford-Gans wasn't considered to mean that much at the time the bout took place.
