2 of the best pairs of boxing brothers in recent years. You have the Marquez brothers (JMM and Rafael Marquez) and the Klitschko brothers(Wladimir and Vitali), all 4 that are Hall of Famers, 2 of them ATGs. They've all been involved in great high profile fights that were memorable. The Marquez brothers were generally more exciting to watch while the Klitschko brothers were more dominant in their era.

In your opinion which pair would you say accomplished more and has the greater legacy?

K bros. Rafael is a little bit of a weak link compared to the others.

Rafael does have 2 wins over Mark Too Sharp Johnson, hardly a weak link.

That's a hard one. I'd have to pick the Klitschkos, though I'd rather pick Marquez.

Its true that he has better wins that Vitali. Not just Johnson, but Tim Austin also who I’m pretty sure would’ve beaten Johnson, and Silence Mabuza. The issue is his window was only like three years long while Vitali left a more lasting impression.

Rafael has a better resume than Vitali and Juan Manuel is superior to Wlad so it’s a no brainer. The Marquez brothers.

well Klitchkos. although the size helped them. I don't think JMM and Rafael were that great.

You don't think a guy who has a legitimate shout over holding 3/4 wins over Pacquaio was that great?

The Marquez brothers were both superior boxers and fighters to Wlad and Vitali. If the Klitschko's took their exact skill sets to another weight class, not only would they both have lost more often, nobody would have ever watched them fight more than once or twice. It was only by combining their skill sets with an immense size advantage that allowed them to reach the heights they did.

Wlad dominated his division for a decade. Wlad alone is better than both Marquez Bros. combined.

    Klitschkos.

Marquez bros were great, but heavyweight is king, and Wlad's ten year reign is as dominant as many fans have seen in their lifetimes. He's a lock for top 10 all time in the sports most prestigious division if one puts any weight at all in to actual accomplishments.

As good as Rafa or JMM were (and I remember when Rafa was held in higher esteem), they don't rate quite that highly.

Comparing the skillset of a heavyweight to the skillset of a featherweight is pointless. It's a different game. I'm sure Mugsy Bouges was more skilled than Shaq, but that doesn't make him greater.

That's what I was trying to say. Floyd, Pac, Roy Jones, Oscar De La Hoya, Roman Gonzales, and maybe one or two others moved up several divisons in weight during JMM's career and either rivaled or surpassed his accomplishments. Rafael Marquez's career was like a toned down version of Juan's.

The duration of Wlad's reign at heavy and Vitali's rounds won/rounds lost ratio are more unique (Juan is clearly ahead of Vitali though).

Barkley has 2-0 win over Hearns, and no one sees him as great. I think JMM has a mediocre record besides the Pacman fights.
