Two popular contenders who fought with an aggressive all action style, were tough as nails and rarely stopped, and fought some of the best fighters throughout their careers. Who would you say fought in a tougher era in their weight class and is the better fighter in your view?

Their resumes are similar in some ways, but I think Gaspar has a better set of higher-end wins, i.e. Gavilan, Paret x2, Gonsalves, Harrington, etc.

Mostly they both lost when they really stepped up vs better opposition, with scattered good wins here and there, and both had some head-scratching losses.

Good point on Gaspar's resume with those wins. Although Briscoe does have wins over guys like George Benton, Eddie Mustafa Muhammad, Tony Mundine, Eugene Hart. Still, I wouldn't argue either or.
