He didnt lose to a fighter coming up from lower divisions for a start.
Didnt do anything to prove he was levels above?
Tell me what he didnt do?

Calzaghe proved himself the champion of his weight division
Calzaghe proved himself the champion of two weight divisions
    Calzaghe never was defeated
    Calzaghe never drew
Calzaghe beat more fighters who had been, were or became champions of their respective divisions
Calzaghe beat rivals in his weight division who had made more defences
    Calzaghe beat a unified champion

Kessler was also past his best when he beat Froch imo, was coming off a loss and suffering eye problems.
Look at Kessler a few years before when he was facing fighters like Andrade or Sartison

Agreed. Horn landed less punches than he did butts, elbows or shoulders.

The judges were as bad as Adelaide Byrd for (GGGvCanelo1) but they haven't been singled out the way Byrd was.

I think ol' Bob wanted to get the belt to Crawford without Bud having to face a 37y.o. Pac.

Ggg is a solid very good fighter but Joe is in higher league.
I don't think would as embarrassing as the absolute schooling handed out to Lacey but would be an interesting fight ...

If Kell Brook, a Welterweight, had no problems signing to fight him(and was his biggest fight at the time), then I assure you others will have no problems either. You'd have to be really gullible to buy into that "avoided" malarkey.

To explain why I wanted clarity on prime, is because as I said previously, it is an argument that is often used with an agenda on here in debates.

    For example -

    1. If a past prime fighter beats another past prime fighter, is it a good win? Like say F Mayweather/M Pacquiao

    2. Or if a prime fighter loses to a considered past prime fighter, are they no longer considered world class? Say for example M Moorer/G Foreman

    3. Or if a decent champion beats a prime undefeated fighter, was that prime undefeated fighter supposedly suddenly not good to begin with when they were hyped before a fight and in some cases favoured to win? Say for example L Lewis/M Grant

    4. Do we judge fighters that may be past their prime still scoring good wins differently?

When Calzaghe (who you keep getting upset about) came to the attention of casual fans in beating Lacy he was older than some other established SMW champs were when they had had their last fight ie -

    Benn
    Eubank
    Collins
    Ward
    Groves
    Degale

Consider Kessler was only a couple of months older than Calzaghe at that time when having his last fight with the Froch rematch

So was he prime at that time?

So to answer your question, please specify the opponents who you are querying as I have pointed out that prime can be an agenda argument rather than a question. If you say Hopkins for example, was he past his prime due to his age or not considering Calzaghe beat him sandwiched between arguably Hopkins best wins of Tarver, Wright and Pavlik. Or do you put said fighters and Pascal in example 2?

So tell me who you are questioning and I will answer

There you go. Broken down for you and ready for you to continue ducking. I asked for some clarity and you completely back down

You do know you just validated the robbery further? Even you just stated that Golovkin HAS to knock Alvarez out to win... :wanker

Literally deflecting and changing the narrative away from those rigged scorecards.
See you in 3 months once your next ban is up.

Joe was a great fighter. But how many other displays did he produce like the one against Lacy in his career?

He barely beat Reid. He couldn’t do that to Kessler and Hopkins etc. He only did that to Lacy and nobody else.

Lacy was a huge favourite going into the fight, mostly due to the fact that Joe was still relatively unknown to most U.S. fans at the time.

I definitely agree with you that the beating he suffered against Joe must have had a profound psychological affect on him. And I believe that his career would have played out differently had he not have fought Joe. But I still think that he was overhyped. He’d not really proven himself before he fought Joe, and as exciting and as powerful as he was, he looked a little one dimensional.

It’s easy saying that Joe didn’t lose to a fighter coming up in weight like GG did against Canelo. But consider that on another thread, you’re claiming that in your honest opinion, Canelo would have beaten a prime version of James Toney. So you obviously think that Canelo is a great fighter.

Now consider that although GG didn’t get the official win, the majority of people think that he deserved it.

You can also consider that the best win of Joe’s entire career, was against a 43 year old former MW who moved up.

I don’t debate on statistics like you do. You know that. Yes, Joe never lost. Yes, he never had any draws. But again, that doesn’t mean that he was levels above GG as a fighter.

Sven Ottke was also undefeated, with the same number of title defences. But his statistics don’t necessarily make him a better fighter than what GG was either.
