There is NOTHING in Bowe's history to say he couldnt take Wlad's punch. Bowe showed throughout his career to have a great chin (tho admittedly not against someone as powerful as Wlad)...and as I said, he was also a great boxer...people forget about this because of his wars with Evander and his out of shape, unmotivated stinkers vs other fighters. If fighters half as skilled as Riddick could get inside vs Wlad...whos to say Bowe couldnt???

And again...once its on the inside...to quote Lennox....DIS FIGHT IS OVAH!!!!! ITS OVAH!!!!!

Bowe was fighting D-level fighters up to the Coetzer match, then had a stretch of 6 decent fights before getting torn up by Golota and quitting the sport. His victories over Holyfield are all he has to keep his name memorable. His prime was barely 2 years in duration, he was a good fighter but nowhere near Wlad's level now. I don't rate the Holyfield victories as highly as some of you because I don't see Evander as a top 20 ATG at HW. A victory over a faded Tyson does not grant that status to anyone. He was lucky to pull out a draw against Lewis, and his HW record is otherwise unimpressive.

    Peter's a special fighter though.

Kind of like Mike Tyson, only without any speed, devestating power, skill, stamina, and intimidation factor. And he only has 40 more pounds of fat than Tyson.

Not that big of a difference really.

imo, wlad controls distance much better than he did against peter and utilizes clever defensive tricks like using his left hand to push down his opponents head during a rush then throwing the right. reference brewster II and Iggy to see how he handles their bull rushes. I think his foot movement is excellent for a man his size. His footwork before steward was awful, always flat-footed. he is a hard man to hit especially considering Bowe's stationary style.

like i said before, peter had the worst style for wlad, pure aggression. keep coming forward walking through power shots and jabs. bowe was a much more controlled boxer.

without the constant pressure, i dont see wlad folding late either. he can take breaks when bowe is doing nothing

but it basically comes down to Bowe's ability to get inside. I don't think he has the power to stop Wlad with only a couple of shots.

    :rofl :rofl :rofl

seriously though, that was a special performance from peter. the punishement he took for 12 rounds and to keep coming forward was just amazing. i remember one sequence where he ate four stright right hands in a row and shook his head. too bad he teamed with don king and became an assclown

    That says it all really....:-(

Greatest CW of all time...wins over Qawi (x2), De Leon, Thomas, Dokes, Bowe, Foreman, Cooper, Holmes, Moorer, Mercer, Tyson, Ruiz, Rahman, etc. Undisputed CW champion...Undisputed HW champion multiple times...HW champion 4 times...

    Do I need to continue???

If Evander aint in your top ten HWs...then I just dont know what to say...

i think i have him around #10 but he is really overrated on here as a hw. he's got a fan friendly style and leads to some crazy ratings. some people have him #3,4,5. How can anyone can rank him over lennox?

How is Evander NOT a top 20 heavyweight?

He's a four time heavyweight champion and holds wins over:

    Mike Tyson (2)
    George Foreman
    Riddick Bowe
    Larry Holmes
    Michael Moorer
    Hasim Rahman
    John Ruiz
    Buster Douglas
    Pinklon Thomas
    Michael Dokes
    Bert Cooper
    Ray Mercer
    Vaughn Bean
    Alex Stewart (2)
    James Tillis

Name 20 fighters with a better HW resume...
