Or Tillman beating Tyson, it's alot different when all the protective gear comes off, and the refs aint so quick to jump in when they see a fighter hurt.

    that's crazy talk :bart

he was last down against peter what 2.5 years ago and two of them were directly cause by illegal punches. the round 10 kd was legit. but since he has been down 0 times in 5 fights. this is his prime. obviously, i feel he is better than u do so we will naturally disagree. but u should watch the peter fight again and watch how wlad moves late in the fight and keeps on the balls of his feet to evade peters' rushes. his footwork against brewster in the rematch was excellent. ive havent seen any boxer that size 6'5" and up move so well

I think Wlad is an amazing offensive fighter; textbook 1- 2 with good speed and excellent power on it, he can hook off the jab like no other big guy I've seen, excellent reflexes and timing etc. However, I cannot see him ever beating guys who are anything like close to him ability wise. You Wlad fans have to realise just how much of a handicapp that chin is - he can look awesome agaisnt overmatched guys, but he can't win competitive fights, he doesnt have the disposition, the heart or the chin for it.

TO be confident of him beating any fighter Id have to be sure there was a massive gulf in class, as Brewster said, "there's just no dog in him."

Manny said the punches Peter landed were fine, not illegal, watch some old George Foreman and you will see the same thing, noone said anything to him about it, fighters turned there back and did damn near anything to get away from his punches, which seems to be the case with Peter as well.

Anyone could of looked good against Brewster that night, he stood there and did practically nothing, Wlad's punching bag probably moved more than Brewster that night, you got to look at all his fights to gauge that, not just one or two, Peter looked great on his feet against Toney the second time, but you wouldnt say Peter has good footwork, would you?

Manny never said the punches weren't illegal. He said "We didn't complain about it, because we knew that is the way he fights". That doesn't make them legal, and fine.:patsch Let alone, the second bogus knockdown, there wasn't even a landed punch, Peter pushed him down and tried to hit Wlad in the back of the head after he was already pushed down. You really need to get your facts straight. There is a bold faced lie in every post of yours that I read.

Actually, Manny said during the Maskaev fight, that "Peters punches were fine and that we(meaning Wlad and Manny) wouldnt protest the knockdowns, and he also went onto say that, thats how Peter punches, he's got long arms for a man his stature".

    Widdow is correct.

I was in one of Bowe's camps w/Eddie Futch. I liked Bowe and I thought the world of Eddie Futch (Papa Smurf). However, Bowe ran from Lennox Lewis, ala Rock Newman. Vlad is so much better, but I understand the haters here, all they ever hear from the US Boxing media is negative about Euro fighters, esp. the Klitschkos because they are the best heavyweights in the world today. Provincial? You figure it out.

Peter "never" knocked Vlad down three times, that is an obvious lie. We were never allowed to punch behind the head in sparring, much less in a real fight. However, it so appears that Peter practices landing the most illegal punch in boxing, the punch behind the head. Ask Terry Norris about that punch, afterall, he lost his title because of such.

no i wouldnt because that was one fight. im looking at wlad last 6 fights. and peter's punches were illegal. any punch to the back of the head is. the ref did a shitty job that night both ways. wlad should have had a pt or 2 taken away for holding and peter should have deducted 2 or 3 pts and not awarded those 2 kds

    that's some good **** :D

It is a fact that Vlad slipped twice in the fifth round against Peter. He was not knocked down. Only referee Randy Neuman's bad judgment led to the slips being ruled knockdowns. Atrocious.

On the other hand, however, it is a fact that Vlad was saved by the bell in round ten of that same fight. If Peter had had another 30 seconds in that round, he would have knocked Vlad out.

Yes Farmy, I agree...Vlad came back from the tenth round to hurt Peter very badly in round twelve.

That's not an excuse for Peter to land illegal punches. You are just grasping at straws. Manny and Wlad are just being classy on the issue. The both mentioned how Peter was repeatedly illegally hitting Wlad behind the head. Wlad even made his famous quote of saying that he wasn't prepared for the "blowjobs to the back of my head".

i think manny is trying to sell a second fight. he was singing peter's praises the whole maskaev fight. imo, manny believes peter is a very easy mark now and i agree :thumbsup
he sees how slow and heavy peter has become. not ideal when u need to chase down a mobile target.

I don't think that Peter would have knocked Wlad out. Wlad was too recovered by the time that the bell rang. I was definitely on the edge of my seat though. Wlad's legs were giving more than anything else in that round. If you listen, you will hear Lampley point out another big shot behind the head, directly before Wlad started to show signs of being hurt. Lampley said that we will find out soon if that shot behind the head hurt Wlad. His equilibrium was just messed up, which is why he sort of lurched back and fell when he was grazed by that last shot. I am willing to give Peter that knockdown though, because at least he landed something OTHER than only a punch behind the head, or a push.
