Look at the calibre of opponent he beat as a WW Judah, Baldomir, Hatton, Marquez, Pacquiao, Mosley, Cotto, Alvarez. Then the second tier of guys like Mitchell, Ortiz, Maidana, Guerrero, Berto. He still had his physical attributes of his younger years, the speed, the reflex, the power, the footwork, but combine that with his ring IQ, experience and ring general ship and I think it exposes the myth that he was at his peak as a SFW. To put it simply, if you take Floyd from 2001 there's no way he beats Saul Alvarez from 2013.
Yes he would at any weight class they fought at. That version threw more punches and was more destructive and defensively great not pot shorting,
Nah no one would be picking a SFW fighter to jump up to LMW and outclass the number 1 fighter. Have a word with yourself.
I think there are 16 actually as all of them were world champions or former world champion when Floyd fought them.
Once Floyd got to be Vegas cash cow he stopped fighting. To be honest he couldn't FIGHT!!!! proved by Castillo & Maidana. An incredibly talented boxer but NOT a FIGHTER!!!!!
He stopped being pbf after the oscar fight maybe as early as his 1st fight at 147. Pbf was more offensive because he was fighting guys closer to his size as he moved up and aged he changed his style a bit. Imo both versions are great and have their advantages and disadvantages. Hard to pick one over the other.
He did beat Castillo in a close one but as for Maidana?? Kenny Bayless did more than Floyd to defeat Maidana. He never gave him a chance to fight He was shouting STOP!! every time Maidana attacked. It was like a Mother Hen guarding her chick Absolutely blatant!!!
