If Crawford takes out Tim at 154 and the Kazakh at 160, he would defo close the gap.

Canelo. Although I think Bud is actually the better fighter, he just hasn't proven enough.

Some really nice posts in this thread especially @Serge.

For me it's also Canelo easily. I always ask the question, who gave us more great fights? And that's 100% Canelo, not even close.

Yeah, but GGG got robbed and it was against a way better fighter than Spence

Comprehensive analysis. Clenelo is a ped cheat who has multiple clear losses, and I am including GGG. However, who has Crawford fought? Spence was going to be that big scalp, Crawford demolished him, but Spence was clearly compromised. Crawford needs to beat a Charlo or Tszyu at 154, or Boots at 147.

If these two fought, a win for Crawford is massive, however, a Canelo win doesn't bring him much, similar to when Loma destroyed Rigondeaux. To me, this is the second most intriguing fight for Canelo after Benavidez, but he obviously won't risk getting completely outboxed.

In what regard? Crawfords resume is garbage truth be told. The only person of notableness he fought was Spence who was compromised due to the accident which puts an asterisk over how great he truly is. Everyone else was mediocre. If Crawford were to take down Boots particularly in a convincing manner then I think the asterisk goes away and cements his greatness at 147. However thats about it and thats still nowhere near Canelo's level who has had solid performances at 147, 154, 160, 168 and despite being outmatched at 175 he was never wobbled or knocked down.

Crawford will, pretty much, never match him no matter what he does even if he were to move up to 154 and beat the top guys there.

I'd argue Bowes resume beats Crawford just due to the 2 Holyfield wins or rather arguably 3 if the fan man hadn't shown up.

Yeah, Clenelo should be fighting Benavidez and Crawford should be fighting Super Boots but neither wants that smoke

I didn't think Canelo deserved victory over Golovkin and his work at MW is tainted for that reason.

His work at LMW and SMW is no better than Crawfords imo. Plus Crawford has never ducked an opponent and despite being 3 division lineal champ has never had a controversial victory.

Canelo hands down. His resume and accomplishments surpass Bud's.
