Two ATG boxers who were highly skilled operators and have fought and defeated other great fighters. Out of the two who would you say was the better H2H fighter at their best weight and who has the better resume in your view?

I can see the argument for Ortiz having the better resume but I definitely think Whittaker was the much better fighter overall

Ortiz is a great boxer puncher but Sweet Pea for me is possibly the most magical boxer ever. Everyone knows Whitaker was a master boxer, with insane reactions with arguably the best ever defense but he doesn't get credit for his insane machine like jab and stamina, his brutal body attack, his intelligence. And ofcourse the master ring general. So Whitaker for me, Ortiz is great too, if you prefer his style fair play to you.

Carlos Ortiz is a monster. I'd take him over Whitaker and Ortiz for greatness. Without any bad decisions, he has wins over Dave Charnley, Joey Lopez, Johnny Busso, Battling Torres, Duilio Loi, Paolo Rosi, Joe Brown, Teruo Kosaka, and twice each for Kenny Lane, Flash Elorde, Ismael Laguna and Sugar Ramos. That's just an unbelievable good list of wins - and Chavez and Whitaker just can't match that imo.

If you're giving Whitaker the Ramirez, DLH or Chavez fights, you should really be giving Ortiz the Loi and Locche fights. He just has a much better resume than them both imo, and when you give Whitaker some of his bad decisions - you should really do the same for Ortiz. Plus, while Whitaker and Chavez are more consistent, it isn't as wide as it'd first seem. His early loss to Busso was extremely contested, and a very close fight which he didn't quite nick. The losses to Loi are extremely bad decisions, the draw with Locche really seemed to be a win and if you're gonna argue that for Whitaker, you have to Ortiz as well. In his prime, he was only truly bested by Lane, Laguna and Liquor.

Ortiz and Chavez over Sweet Pea who was more of a gimmick fighter.

    And frankly, Chavez over Ortiz.

P4P Whitaker was the better and greater fighter, imo.

If anything, Ortiz was marginally the bigger of the 2, yet Whitaker was arguably a better WW than Ortiz was a LWW.
