5 HOF fighters who made multiple title defenses in their respective weight classes. Based on dominance and who they fought during their reign who would you say is the best in the lot in your opinion

I think this thread needs a poll.

All of these guys had long successful reigns. As with most boxers who fit that profile, their title reigns fights featured some top notch opponents and a lot of lesser top ten types. There is nothing wrong with that because there just aren't that many top fighters in any one weight class.

Because of the similarity of their reigns I had to go to the dominance in their fights to make the decision. In that light the answer has to be Finito Lopez. When he wasn't knocking guys out he was winning dominant decisions. It took more than seven years, twenty title defenses and aging before someone gave him a good fight. Even then, Rosendo Alvarez could not beat Lopez in either of their bouts.

Although not the strongest of resumes when it comes to level of opposition their stats and number of title defenses are still impressive.

Ricardo Lopez (51-0-1, 38 KOs) : 21 consecutive title defenses. Unbeaten while avenging only draw.
Victories over Rosendo Alvarez, Saman Sorjaturong, Ratanapol Sor Vorapin, Alex Sanchez, Hideyuki Ohashi

Myung Woo Yuh (38-1, 14 KOs) : 17 consecutive title defenses. Avenged only defeat.
Victories over Leo Gamez, Hiroki Ioka, Rodolfo Blanco, Joey Olivo

Khaosai Galaxy (47-1, 41 KOs) : 19 consecutive title defenses. One defeat
Victories over: Israel Contreras, Rafael Orono, Yong Kang Kim, Park Chan Yong

Orlando Canizales (50-5-1, 37 KOs) : 16 consecutive title defenses, 5 defeats with one draw (one avenged, 4 losses being by SD and MD)
Victories over: Paul Gonzalez, Kelvin Seabrooks, Billy Hardy, Clarence Adams,

Brian Mitchell (45-1-3, 21 KOs) : 12 consecutive title defenses mostly in opponents hometown. Avenged only defeat and draw.
Victories over: Tony Lopez, Jim McDonnell, Alfredo Layne, Daniel Londas

I personally had Rosendo Alvarez beating Lopez in their first fight, especially considering the knockdown scored in his favor. I thought Alvarez got screwed over the first time. Second fight was also very close but I have no issues with Lopez winning it.

I think out of the fighters listed Brian Mitchell is the only fighter who doesn’t have one controversial victory.
